TG TET Cut Off 2026 - Category-Wise Qualifying Marks
TG TET is a qualifying exam, not a merit-ranking exam. There is no overall "topper" cut off every candidate who scores at or above their category's minimum qualifying marks is declared qualified. Each paper (Paper I for Classes I–V and Paper II for Classes VI–VIII) carries 150 marks, and the qualifying marks are calculated as a percentage of 150.
| Category | Minimum Qualifying Percentage | Minimum Marks (out of 150) |
|---|---|---|
| General / EWS | 60% | 90 |
| BC (Backward Classes) | 50% | 75 |
| SC / ST / Differently Abled (PwD) | 40% | 60 |
These qualifying percentages have been consistently applied across recent TG TET cycles. If the Department of School Education revises this criterion for a specific cycle, it will be stated in that cycle's official notification no change beyond what is listed above has been officially confirmed for the June 2026 cycle at the time of writing.
Factors That Influence TG TET Cut Off Marks
- Category of the candidate: General category candidates need the highest qualifying percentage; BC and SC/ST/PwD candidates get relaxation.
- Difficulty level of the paper: A tougher paper can influence how the qualifying process is reviewed for that cycle.
- Number of candidates appearing: Higher turnout can affect how results are processed and analysed.
- Paper-wise performance trends: Paper I and Paper II are evaluated separately, since they test different subject combinations.
Because TG TET is a qualifying (not competitive) exam, these factors influence exam analysis more than they change the fixed qualifying percentage itself.
