Eligibility Criteria
- The project “Baseline Survey of Mining-Affected Communities in Yavatmal District: A Multi-Sectoral Assessment of Socio-Economic and Environmental Impacts on Vulnerable Populations” is being implemented in collaboration with District Mineral Foundation Trust, Office of the District Collector, Government of Maharashtra, LIC Square, Bangarnagar, Yavatmal–445001.
- Research Officer: M.Sc/MA/MS (M.Phil/PhD candidate will be preferred); good knowledge of basic statistical techniques and statistical software like STATA/SPSS; preferably below 45 years; good written and oral communication skills in Marathi and English, with preference for experience and proficiency in Marathi, particularly in writing project reports.
- Research Assistant: MA in Social Work, Rural Development, Sociology, Economics OR Post Graduate in any discipline; good knowledge of data entry in statistical software; preferably below 30 years; good written and oral communication skills in Marathi and English, with preference for experience and proficiency in Marathi and English, particularly in writing project reports.
- Research Intern: Any Graduation OR Master of Arts/Social Work (Pursuing); age limit 30 years; good written and oral communication skills in Marathi and English, with preference for experience and proficiency in Marathi, particularly in writing case studies, conducting FGDs and data collection.
- Admin cum Account Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com.) and one year of work experience in accounting field; English Typewriting 30 wpm; Marathi Typewriting 30 wpm; MS-CIT – Computer Literacy completed; preference for those who have completed Tally Certificate course; preference for candidates having good knowledge of accounts, experience in working in ERP environment and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; age limit below 45 years; good written and oral communication skills in Marathi and English.
Salary/Stipend
- Research Officer: Consolidated payment of Rs. 50,000/- per month plus traveling expenses during data collection by public transport.
- Research Assistant: Consolidated payment of Rs. 30,000/- per month plus traveling expenses during data collection by public transport.
- Research Intern: Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand only) per month plus traveling expenses during data collection by public transport.
- Admin cum Account Assistant: Consolidated payment of Rs. 20,000/- per month.
Age Limit
- Research Officer: Preferably below 45 years.
- Research Assistant: Preferably below 30 years.
- Research Intern: 30 years.
- Admin cum Account Assistant: Below 45 years.

Selection Process
- Online personal interviews will be conducted for the project positions at TISS Tuljapur off-campus.
- Candidates will be informed over e-mail to appear for the online personal interview.
- Verification of documents: Selected candidates must bring photocopies of relevant certificates of educational qualifications, work experience and ID proof (self-attested) along with original documents for verification at the time of joining.
- No TA/DA is payable for appearing for interview.
General Information/Instructions
- Online interviews are for project positions under the District Mineral Foundation Trust collaboration project on mining-affected communities in Yavatmal District.
- Candidates will be selected on contract basis for the specified durations; Research Officer (3 months), Research Assistants (4 months), Research Interns (4 months) and Admin cum Account Assistant (3 months, extendable by two months).
- The institute reserves the right to relax the qualification of the candidate based on work experience and to relax age in the case of persons already holding comparable positions in a university/research institution of repute.
- The institute reserves the right to invite persons for interview who may not have applied as per the above procedure and not to fill up the vacancy advertised.
- No queries or correspondence regarding issue of call letter for interview/selection of candidates for the post will be entertained at any stage and canvassing in any form is strictly prohibited and will lead to the candidate being debarred from consideration.
