The whole area includes both landmass and water coverage area. Almost 71% of the total surface area is covered with water. The remaining 29% of the mainland is about 149 million square kilometers. The largest countries in the world cover almost 50% of land In the earth’s landmass. The world’s largest countries are classified in terms of surface area. According to the surface area, Russia is the largest country in the world, spreading over two continents, Asia and Europe. Canada, China, the United States, and India are the world’s second, third, fourth, and seventh-largest countries in the world, based on surface area, respectively.
