Eligibility Criteria

  • For Lower Division Clerk (LDC) - Post Code 2/26:
    • Class XII pass certificate from a recognized Board or Institution
    • Typing Speed test of 35 words per minute on computer (35 words per minute corresponds to 10500 Key Depression per hour - KDPH on an average of 5 Key Depression for each word)
  • For Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) - Post Code 3/26:
    • Class XII pass certificate from a recognized Board or Institution
    • Typing Speed test of 35 words per minute on computer (35 words per minute corresponds to 10500 Key Depression per hour - KDPH on an average of 5 Key Depression for each word)
  • For Driver - Post Code 4/26:
    • Class X/ITI or equivalent pass certificate from a recognized Board or Institution
  • Minimum Qualifying Service for LDC & JSA:
    • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) of the concerned Department with 8 (Eight) years of regular service in the grade, and possessing Class-XII pass certificate from a recognized Board/Institution, OR
    • Skilled Contingency Staff with minimum of 12 (Twelve) years of continuous service as skilled contingency in the concerned Department/office and possess educational qualification of Class-XII pass certificate from a recognized Board/Institution
  • Minimum Qualifying Service for Driver:
    • Contingency skilled driver who possess Class X/ITI or equivalent pass certificate from a recognized Board or Institution with 10 (Ten) years of service in the concerned Department/Office, OR
    • Handyman who possess Class X/ITI or equivalent pass Certificate from a recognized Board/Institution with 6 (Six) years of regular service in the concerned Department/Office
  • General Eligibility:
    • The candidate must be a citizen of India
    • The educational qualification, required length of service, age, category as stipulated shall be determined as on the closing date of submission of application i.e. 25-02-2026
    • The name of the candidate should be in the certified list of eligible candidates submitted by the HoD/HoO
    • Only those candidates who have been certified as eligible by their Head of Department are eligible to apply

Selection Process

  • For LDC (Post Code 2/26) & JSA (Post Code 3/26):
    • Stage-I (Written Examination): Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions - 200 Marks, Duration: 2 Hours
      • General Awareness: 50 marks (25 questions of 2 marks each)
      • General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability: 50 marks (25 questions of 2 marks each)
      • Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: 50 marks (25 questions of 2 marks each)
      • Test of English Language and Comprehension: 50 marks (25 questions of 2 marks each)
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 33% aggregate marks in the written examination paper
    • Stage-II (Skill Test): Typing Speed Test of 35 words per minute on computer (10500 KDPH). The Typing Test is of qualifying nature only and marks will not be counted for final merit
  • For Driver (Post Code 4/26):
    • Stage-I (Written Examination): Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions - 200 Marks, Duration: 2 Hours
      • General Awareness: 25 marks (10 questions of 2.5 marks each)
      • General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability: 25 marks (10 questions of 2.5 marks each)
      • Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: 25 marks (10 questions of 2.5 marks each)
      • Test of English Language and Comprehension: 25 marks (10 questions of 2.5 marks each)
      • Technical Paper: 100 marks (50 questions of 2 marks each)
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 33% aggregate in both the papers separately i.e., for Common Paper and Technical Paper
    • Stage-II (Driving Test): Qualifying nature only. Candidate shall produce a valid Driving License for appearing in the Driving Test
  • Shortlisting for Stage-2: The total number of candidates shortlisted for Stage 2 will be in 1:3 ratio (if total vacancies are 10, then 30 candidates will be shortlisted)
  • Final Merit List: Will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in written examination only. Marks in Skill Test/Driving Test will not be counted but candidates must qualify
  • Note: There is no negative marking in the examination

General Information/Instructions

  • Application Mode: Only online applications will be accepted. Applications received through any other mode shall be summarily rejected
  • Login Credentials: Login credentials will be sent to eligible candidates through e-mail & SMS to their respective e-mail addresses and mobile numbers furnished by their Departments/Offices
  • Eligibility Determination: APSSB will not entertain any representations from candidates with regards to eligibility and the same shall be determined solely by the concerned Head of Department/Office
  • Provisional Candidature: Candidature of applicants shall be purely PROVISIONAL at all stages of the recruitment process
  • Examination Centre: The Centre for the examination will be ITANAGAR
  • ID Proof Requirement: Candidate will have to provide a valid Aadhar Card/Government authorized Photo Identity Card. They will have to carry the same ID card in original along with the admit card to the Examination Centre
  • Prohibited Items: Use of Calculator, Laptop, Palmtop, other digital instrument/Mobile/Cell Phone/Pager/Electronic watches etc. is not allowed. Candidates found in possession of any such gadget will be debarred from examination
  • Admit Card: Individual Admit cards will not be sent to candidates and have to be downloaded from the website www.apssb.nic.in
  • Vacancy Status: The vacancies published are provisional and subject to change. In case the vacancy position is reduced or withdrawn by the user department, the Board shall not be liable to compensate the applicant
  • No Re-evaluation: There is no provision of re-evaluation/re-checking of Answer sheet/Answer scripts
  • Board's Rights: The Board reserves the right to reject candidature at any stage, cancel part or entire examination process, change examination scheme, conduct medical test for PwBD candidates, and make any amendments as deemed necessary
  • Scribe Facility for PwBD: Facility of scribe will be provided to eligible PwBD/PwD candidates as per Government guidelines. Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination will be provided to persons allowed use of scribe
  • Multiple Applications: In case an applicant applies multiple forms for the same post, only the latest application form shall be considered by APSSB
  • Malpractice Action: Candidates found involved in violating guidelines, impersonation, using unfair means, submitting fabricated documents etc. will face strict action including police action, FIR lodging and debarment from all future APSSB examinations
  • Final Selection: The Board makes provisional selection and recommends to the Indenting/User Department. The Appointing Authority verifies and satisfies about authenticity of documents before finally appointing the candidate

  • Eligible departmental candidates are required to apply online only through the website www.apssb.nic.in using their unique login credentials/passwords
  • Login credentials will be sent to eligible candidates' respective mobile numbers & e-mail IDs by their departments
  • Application period: 12-02-2026 to 25-02-2026 (03:00 PM)
  • Only those candidates who have been certified as eligible by their Head of Department are eligible to apply
  • Documents to be scanned and uploaded at time of online application:
    • Scanned signature of the candidate on white paper with black ink pen (10-50 kb in jpg/jpeg/png format)
    • Latest/recent passport size photo (50-100 kb in jpg/jpeg/png format)
  • Documents to be submitted during Document Verification:
    • Recent passport size Photograph (2 copies)
    • Matriculation certificates/II issued by the Board/Institute for proof of date of birth
    • Class XII pass certificate & marksheet issued from a recognized Board/University
    • APST Certificate (if applicable)
    • Valid Driving License (for Driver post)
    • Print out of Admit Card
    • Any other documents as may be relevant
  • Shortlisted candidates will have to produce above-mentioned Certificates/Documents in original during Document Verification failing which candidature will be summarily rejected
  • The applicants are advised to fill up the application form carefully. They will not be allowed to edit/modify the details after the closing date
