Eligibility Conditions
- Deputation/Absorption from Department of Posts: Regular Dispatch Riders [Group-C] and MTS [Group-C] in Pay Matrix Level-1 (Rs. 18000 - 56900) possessing valid driving license for Light and Heavy Motor vehicles, based on a driving test to assess the competence to drive Light and Heavy Motor vehicles.
- Deputation/Absorption from other Ministries: Officials holding regular Dispatch Rider posts or regular Group-C employees in Pay Matrix Level-1 (Rs. 18000 - 56900) in other Ministries of Central Government who fulfill the necessary qualifications.
- Armed Forces Personnel: Armed Forces personnel due to retire or who are to be transferred to reserve within period of one year and having the requisite experience and qualifications. Such persons would be given deputation terms up to the date on which they are due for release from the armed forces thereafter they may be continued on re-employment.
- Educational Qualification: Pass in the 10th standard from a recognized Board or institute.
- Driving License: Possession of a valid driving license for driving Light and Heavy Motor vehicles.
- Experience: Experience of driving Light and Heavy Motor Vehicle for at least three years.
- Motor Mechanism: Knowledge of Motor Mechanism (the candidate should be able to remove minor defects in vehicles).
- Desirable: Three years service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteers.
- Age Limit: The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation/absorption shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of the applications.

Selection Process
The driving test and trade test will be carried out as per the pattern/syllabus prescribed vide Directorate letter No. F.No. 08-01/2019-SPN-I dated 17.06.2022.

India Post Staff Car Driver Important Instructions
- Applications which are not forwarded through proper channel or those received without the requisite certificates and necessary documents as mentioned in Para.8 (I to VII) will not be entertained.
- Application without complete information or without requisite documents will be rejected straight way without any notice or information.
- The candidates who apply for the posts will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature subsequently.
- No provisions for reservation exist for the posts to be filled up on deputation/absorption basis.
- The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed three years.
- Two years for the re-employed.
- In case of any discrepancy, the English version of the notification shall be treated as final.
