Educational Qualification

Subedar (Ministerial) Stenographer

Candidates must satisfy all the following requirements:

  • Passed Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination from a recognized board.
  • Passed Hindi shorthand examination at a speed of 100 words per minute from a recognized board, council, polytechnic, ITI or equivalent institution.
  • Possess a valid CPCT certificate with Hindi typing.
  • Possess an approved computer qualification.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (Ministerial)

Candidates must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Passed the 10+2 or Class 12 examination from a recognized board or institution.
  • Possess a valid CPCT certificate with Hindi typing.
  • Possess an approved Degree, Diploma or certificate in computers or information technology.

Accepted Computer Qualifications

Depending on the post, the notification accepts qualifications such as:

  • Engineering Degree in the relevant computer or information technology field
  • MCA
  • BCA
  • M.Sc. in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • AICTE-approved Polytechnic Diploma
  • DOEACC Diploma-level examination
  • One-year Computer Operator and Programming Assistant certificate from a government-recognized ITI
  • Modern Office Management course from a recognized institution
  • Computer Diploma from a UGC-recognized institution or open university

Candidates must possess all required qualifications and certificates by 8 October 2026.

The maximum age will be calculated as of 8 October 2026.

According to the applicable Madhya Pradesh Government rules, newly appointed candidates will receive 70% of the minimum pay during the first year, 80% during the second year and 90% during the third year. Applicable allowances will be payable according to government rules.

Selection Process

The MP Police Subedar Stenographer and ASI selection process includes:

  1. First-stage online written examination
  2. Shortlisting based on the written examination percentile
  3. Document verification
  4. Hindi stenography or Hindi typing practical examination
  5. Physical measurement verification
  6. Medical examination
  7. Final merit list

Candidates up to seven times the number of advertised vacancies in each vertical category will be shortlisted for the second stage. Candidates obtaining the same percentile as the cutoff will also be called, even if this increases the number beyond seven times the vacancies.

The final selection will be based on the combined marks obtained in the written and practical examinations.

The test will include two Hindi shorthand dictations. Each dictation will be given for five minutes at 100 words per minute.

  • Two shorthand dictations of five minutes each
  • Five minutes after each dictation to read and correct the draft
  • Twenty minutes to type the transcription of each dictation
  • Each dictation carries 10 marks
  • Typing the transcription of each dictation carries 40 marks

ASI Ministerial Practical Test

Candidates will be given two Hindi paragraphs containing 600 words each. Each paragraph must be typed within 30 minutes.

  • First Hindi paragraph: 600 words and 30 minutes

  • Each paragraph carries a maximum of 50 marks
  • Only the content typed on the computer will be evaluated
