Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil/Agricultural/Environmental Engineering.
Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Science in subjects like Geology, Hydrology, Water Resources, Earth Science, Remote Sensing, Agriculture, Environment Science & GIS.
Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydraulics, Remote Sensing & GIS, Geoinformatics, Geography, Soil & Water Conservation.
Professionals with requisite qualifications and experience as prescribed are eligible with submission of related certificates only.
Additional: Rs. 1,500/- per month as local conveyance.

Selection Process
Selection of candidates will be made through Walk-in-Interview.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
No TA/DA shall be admissible for joining the appointment on contractual basis.
Selected candidate shall be allowed TA/DA for travel inside the country in connection with official work.
General Information / Instructions
Selected candidates will be engaged for a fixed period for providing high quality services to the Institute for specific and time-bound jobs.
The appointment is on full-time basis and candidates will not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the consultancy period with NIH.
The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus and does not entitle the appointee to any claim, implicit or explicit, for any NIH post.
The appointment can be cancelled at any time by the Institute without assigning any reason.
The initial term of appointment and subsequent extensions, if any, shall be decided on case to case basis depending upon the specific job and time frame.
Selected candidates shall not be entitled to allowances such as DA, residential telephone, transport facility, personal staff etc.
Selected candidates may be provided transit accommodation as per prevailing rules of the Institute; applicable licence fee shall be charged and accommodation must be vacated on termination or expiry of tenure.
Outstation candidates are required to make their own boarding and lodging arrangement at Western Himalayan Regional Centre, NIH Jammu.
