Competition Level Analysis for TNPSC CTS Examination (Non-Interview Posts) 2026
The competition level for TNPSC CTS (Non-Interview Posts) 2026 is expected to vary significantly by post. High-vacancy posts like Assistant Engineer (Agricultural Engineering) (64 posts), Block Health Statistician (62 posts), Assistant Engineer – Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (50 posts), and Assistant Engineer – Highways (38 posts) will attract the most applicants. The single-stage written examination format - without an interview - means the final selection is entirely merit-based on the written test score, placing a premium on subject knowledge, General Studies, and Aptitude preparation.
Low-vacancy posts such as Assistant Engineer (Civil) under Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (1 post), Assistant Engineer under Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (1 post), System Manager (1 post), and Librarian (1 post) will be highly competitive. Candidates must carefully choose subject papers aligned with their qualifications, as the Paper II syllabus is strictly discipline-specific. The exemption from Tamil Eligibility Test (Part A) for PwBD candidates and the provision for Tamil knowledge through language test within 2 years of joining are noteworthy flexibilities.
