Eligibility Criteria
- PG Diploma/Degree in Journalism/Mass Media OR Graduate with minimum 2 years journalistic experience
- Age: 24–50 years as on 31-12-2025
- Must reside at the respective district headquarters or within a radius of 10 km from District Headquarters/Municipal limit
- Knowledge of computer and word processing
- Possession of news-gathering devices
- Candidates already in Central/State Govt, PSU or member of any political party are not eligible

- Minimum Age: 24 Years
- Maximum Age: 50 Years
Selection Process
- Interview (based on qualifications, experience, knowledge of district & state, current affairs, welfare schemes, radio news, journalistic aptitude, writing skills, communication technologies etc.)
- Initial engagement for 3 months monitoring period, then monthly renewal; yearly contract possible on satisfactory performance till age of 60 years
Salary / Stipend
- Average monthly remuneration: ₹9,250/- (including conveyance and telephone charges)
- Calculated as per NSD circular dated 28-08-2024, subject to satisfactory service certified by RNU Head, Akashvani Chennai
