Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications:

• Project Engineer (FTA Gr I) - Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication/Instrumentation/Computer Science: Full-Time Degree in Engineering/Technology or Post Graduate in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication/Instrumentation/Computer Science from recognized Indian University/Institute with minimum 60% marks in aggregate for General/OBC candidates (50% marks in aggregate for SC/ST).
• Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III - Electrical): Full-Time Diploma in Engineering/Technology in Electrical from recognized Indian University/Institute with minimum 60% marks in aggregate for General/OBC candidates (50% marks in aggregate for SC/ST).
• Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III - Civil): Full-Time Diploma in Engineering/Technology in Civil from recognized Indian University/Institute with minimum 60% marks in aggregate for General/OBC candidates (50% marks in aggregate for SC/ST).
• Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III - Mechanical): Full-Time Diploma in Engineering/Technology in Mechanical from recognized Indian University/Institute with minimum 60% marks in aggregate for General/OBC candidates (50% marks in aggregate for SC/ST).
• Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III - Safety): Full-Time Diploma in Engineering/Technology in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical diploma from recognized Indian University/Institute with Safety certification (NEBOSH/IOSH/OHSAS/Industrial Safety) with minimum 60% marks in aggregate for General/OBC candidates (50% marks in aggregate for SC/ST).

Essential Qualifications:

• Candidates should possess the required qualification and experience as on 12.01.2026.
• Wherever CGPA/OGPA/DGPA or Letter Grade in a degree/diploma is awarded, its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per norms adopted by University/Institute.
• Proof of norms adopted by the University/Institute to convert CGPA/OGPA/DGPA into percentage is to be submitted along with the application.
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Persons with Disability/Ex-Servicemen category should submit self-attested copy of the certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
• OBC candidates are required to submit Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate in the format as applicable for appointment to posts under Government of India not more than one year old from the date of application to BHEL.
• Candidates should be of sound health and will have to undergo medical examination by Company's Authorized Medical Officer/Govt Officer in prescribed format.

Desirable:

• For Project Engineer (FTA Gr I):
  • Candidate should possess inspiring leadership qualities and in-depth knowledge about the execution and delivery of electronic modules/sub-assemblies/systems for Railways Control & Signalling Systems.
  • Good understanding of relevant Rail & Signalling IEC/EN standards.
  • Knowledge of/exposure to cyber security features, devices and software packages.
  • Knowledge of best practices in software development processes.
  • Knowledge of system integration for rail transport systems.
  • Problem solving/root cause analysis skills for embedded systems.
  • Expertise of working in SIL Systems.
  • Exposure to and knowledge of relevant standards/frameworks such as IEEE, ISO, IEC, EN/CENELEC.
• For Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III - Civil): Knowledge in Civil quality standards.
• For Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III - Mechanical): Experience in erection of tracker based solar PV plant.
• For Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III - Safety): Experience in construction or infrastructure works.

Experience:

• Project Engineer (FTA Gr I): Minimum 5 years experience in any or more of the following:
  • Design of control systems
  • Design of embedded hardware & software systems
  • Design of safety critical control systems for defence/railways/aerospace/automotive
  • Experience of working with various communication protocols (UHF/LTE/GSM/GPS)
  • Knowledge of working on micro-processor/FPGA/DSP
  • SIL Certification, RAMS and its standards
  • Testing & trouble shooting of control systems
  • Knowledge on quality control, erection, commissioning and field maintenance of electrical/electronic/signalling systems in railway applications
  • Installation, testing & communication of Railway signalling systems such as RRI/PI/EI/Kavach etc in compliance with Railway electrical safety norms
  • Experience of working with software tools such as Matlab, Simulink, QT
  • Experience of software programming in C++, Java, .net, SQL etc
• Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III - Electrical): Minimum 2 years work experience in installation & Commissioning of any of the following:
  • Photovoltaic systems
  • Power Plant Control, Monitoring & Associated system
  • Instrumentation & PLC system
  • Power electronic system (inverters, UPS drives, rectifiers)
  • SCADA system/HVDC & Reactive power management
  • Switchyard substations
• Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III - Civil): Minimum 2 years work experience in Civil works associated with any of the following areas:
  • Solar Power Projects
  • Thermal power Projects
  • Infrastructure Projects
  • Industrial Construction Projects
  • Residential/Commercial Construction Projects
• Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III - Mechanical): Minimum 2 years work experience in Mechanical Installation works associated with any of the following areas:
  • Solar Power Projects
  • Thermal power Projects
  • Infrastructure Projects
  • Industrial Projects
• Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III - Safety): Minimum 2 years work experience of which 1 year experience in Industrial/Projects safety works.
• Post qualification experience should be exclusive of Trainee/Apprenticeship Period if any.

Salary/Stipend

• Project Engineer (FTA Gr I) - Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication/Instrumentation/Computer Science: Rs. 95,000/- per month in the first year, Rs. 1,00,000/- per month in the second year (All-inclusive Consolidated Remuneration).
• Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III) - Electrical/Civil/Mechanical/Safety: Rs. 45,000/- per month in the first year, Rs. 48,000/- per month in the second year (All-inclusive Consolidated Remuneration).
• Medical Benefits: Reimbursement shall be made for premium paid for Mediclaim Policy up to Rs. 5 lakhs for Self, Spouse and dependent Children.
• Insurance: The selected candidates shall be covered under the Group Personal Accident Policy of BHEL.

Age Limit (as on 01-12-2025)

• Project Engineer (FTA Gr I): Maximum 35 years
• Project Supervisor (FTA Gr III): Maximum 32 years
• Age Relaxation for SC/ST candidates: 5 years (Maximum age: 40 years for Project Engineer, 37 years for Project Supervisor)
• Age Relaxation for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years (Maximum age: 38 years for Project Engineer, 35 years for Project Supervisor)
• Age Relaxation for PWD candidates:
  • General: 10 years
  • OBC (NCL): 13 years
  • SC/ST: 15 years
• Age Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen: As per extant Government rules
• Age Relaxation for J&K domiciled candidates: 5 years (for candidates ordinarily domiciled in J&K during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989)

• Fee is to be paid online through NEFT/UPI Payment (Link provided in the website).
• The receipt/transaction on payment of fee needs to be entered in the online Application Form.
• Print-out of the receipt/transaction wherever applicable needs to be sent along with the application form.

Selection Process

• All eligible applications received will be screened with respect to the eligibility conditions.
• Candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions shall be called for Personal Interview.
• In case of receipt of more number of eligible applications, shortlisting of Candidates for interview will be in the ratio of 1:10 in order of merit to the number of vacancies in each category.
• The merit will be done based on marks secured in qualifying examination (Degree/Diploma as applicable).
• Shortlisted candidates will be individually informed through e-mail (E-Mail ID as provided in the application form) about the Personal Interview.
• Before joining, selected candidates will have to undergo medical examination by the Company's Authorized Medical Officer/Govt Officer in the prescribed format.
• The appointment will be subject to meeting the health standards prescribed by the Company.
• No relaxation in health standards is allowed.

General Information/Instructions

• BHEL invites applications for 20 positions on Fixed Tenure basis in Solar Business Division, Bengaluru.
• The posts are purely temporary in nature and offered on a Fixed Tenure basis for a period of initial Two Years or completion of assignment (whichever is earlier).
• This post is not against any permanent vacancy and will not entitle the candidate for any regular/permanent employment in BHEL in future.
• The positions of Project Engineers (FTA Gr I) shall be on PAN-India basis at user railway sites or BHEL SBD, Bengaluru as per requirement.
• The positions of Project Supervisors (FTA Gr III) shall be at Khavda Solar Park, Gujarat.
• Reservation for Persons with Disabilities candidates and Ex-servicemen will be in accordance with Government directives on horizontal basis.
• Vacancies reserved for OBC Category are meant only for candidates coming under Non-Creamy Layer.
• For positions where reservation points are not available, candidates may apply subject to meeting the general standards of eligibility and will be considered under UR category.
• Candidates employed in Govt./Semi-Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous bodies are required to produce "No Objection Certificate" at the time of Interview.
• Working hours shall be on shift basis as per requirement including night shift.
• The requirement is specific to unit and no request for change in place of posting shall be entertained.
• Company reserves the right to change the place of posting as per administrative needs.
• BHEL reserves right to cancel/restrict/enlarge/reopen the recruitment process and increase/decrease vacancies, if the need so arises.
