Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifications (Technical Assistant): Diploma in relevant engineering/technology (3 years full time) with 60% marks and 2 years experience OR B.Sc. with 1 year professional qualification/experience in relevant area (IPR/HR/Finance/IT etc.).
- Qualifications (Technician): SSC / 10th Standard with Science subjects (minimum 55% marks) AND ITI certificate in relevant trade OR 2-3 years of relevant experience/apprentice training.
- Essential qualifications: All qualifications must be from recognized Universities/Institutions. Period of experience is counted after acquiring minimum prescribed qualification.
- Desirable: Higher qualifications can be mentioned in the application form.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years for Technical Assistant roles, and minimum of ITI certification or 2-3 years experience for Technician roles.
Salary/Stipend
Total Emoluments means approximate total emoluments on minimum of Pay Level inclusive of Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) etc. in Class 'Y' City.
- Technical Assistant (Level-06): Rs. 35,400-1,12,400 (Total Emoluments approx. Rs. 66,500/- per month).
- Technician (1) (Level-02): Rs. 19,900-63,200 (Total Emoluments approx. Rs. 37,000/- per month).
- Other benefits available as per CSIR/Govt. of India rules: Reimbursement of Medical Expenses, Leave Travel Concession, Children’s Education Allowances, New Pension Scheme (NPS) 2004, Personal Computer Advance, House Building Advance.
Age Limit (as on 04-01-2026)

Selection Process
- Candidates recommended by the Screening Committee will be invited for a Trade Test.
- Those who qualify in the Trade Test will be invited for a competitive Written Examination.
- The written exam is OMR Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination (English and Hindi, except for English language questions).
- The exam consists of Paper I (Mental Ability Test, 50 questions, 1 hour, no negative marks), Paper II (General Awareness & English Language, 25 questions each, 30 minutes, negative marking), and Paper III (Concerned Subject, 100 questions for TA / 50 questions for Tech(1), 90/60 minutes respectively, negative marking).
- The final merit list will be prepared only on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-II & Paper-III, provided minimum thresholds are met in Paper-I and Trade Test is qualified.
