The total number of fellowships for DRDO Defence Laboratory Jodhpur RA & JRF Recruitment 2026 is 12, distributed as follows:
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Research Associate (RA – Physics): Ph.D. in Physics or equivalent degree
OR
Postgraduate degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Physics with 03 years of Research/Teaching/Design & Development experience after post-graduation, with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) Journal.
- JRF (Chemistry): Postgraduate degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Chemistry with first division and National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification conducted by CSIR-UGC (NET), MHRD (GATE) or JEST.
- JRF (Physics): Postgraduate degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Physics with first division and National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification conducted by CSIR-UGC (NET), MHRD (GATE) or JEST.
- JRF (Electronics & Communication): Graduate degree in professional course (B.E./B.Tech.) in Electronics & Communication in first division with NET/GATE qualification
OR
Postgraduate degree (M.E./M.Tech.) in professional courses in Electronics & Communication in first division at both graduate and postgraduate level.
Age Limit
- RA: Age not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview.
- JRF: Age not exceeding 28 years as on the date of interview.
- Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST/PH and 3 years for OBC candidates. Candidates must produce original caste certificate from competent authority; PH candidates must produce a medical certificate from Government Hospital/Medical Board.
Selection Process
- Mode of selection is walk-in interview at Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur on the dates mentioned for each fellowship.
- Candidates must report at 10:00 Hrs on the respective date of interview.
- Candidates are required to produce original certificates/testimonials related to age, educational qualification, experience, and copies thereof at the time of interview.
- Candidates must also produce copies of published research papers and thesis, if applicable.
- Offer of fellowship does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO.
- The Research Fellowship may be terminated at any time during the tenure with a prior notice of one month; fellows may also resign with one month prior notice.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
Application Fee

Salary/Stipend
- Research Associate (RA): Rs. 67,000/- per month with HRA and medical facilities as per DRDO rules; duration of fellowship is 02 years.
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Rs. 37,000/- per month with HRA and medical facilities as per DRDO rules; duration of fellowship is 02 years, which may be extended further and upgraded to SRF as per rules.
- Fellowships are purely temporary and governed by DRDO guidelines; they do not guarantee any regular appointment.

- Eligible Indian nationals should appear directly for the walk-in interview at Defence Laboratory, Dr DS Kothari Marg, Ratanada Palace, Ratanada, Jodhpur – 342011, Rajasthan at 10:00 Hrs on the respective interview date.
- Prepare a complete Bio-Data with a recent passport size photograph affixed on the top right corner of the first page.
- Bring one set of self-attested copies and original documents of all degrees, academic qualification certificates, mark sheets, experience certificates, and other relevant documents.
- Carry copies of published research papers and thesis, if applicable.
- Candidates working in Government/Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the present employer at the time of interview.
- No prior online application is prescribed; selection is purely through walk-in on the scheduled dates.

- Fellowships are purely temporary; they do not confer any right for absorption or regular appointment in DRDO.
- The Research Fellowship can be terminated at any time during the tenure with one month prior notice from either side.
- Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur reserves the right to amend, modify or cancel the advertisement, and the number of fellowships may be increased, decreased or cancelled depending upon prevailing requirements and Government of India policies.
