Minimum qualification differs by post - ranging from a basic literacy/8th-pass requirement for posts like Safaiwala and Chowkidar, to professional degrees such as MBBS for Medical Officer, BDS for Dental Officer, and MD/MS/DNB for Medical Specialist. Most Para-Medical and Non-Medical posts also require a specific Armed Forces trade course or equivalent civilian diploma along with a minimum number of years of relevant experience. Each post carries two age figures in the notification: the age limit "for employment" and a higher age limit "for contractual service." ECHS Ambala Cantt Selection Process
The selection process, as per the notification, involves the following stages:
- Screening of applications against the minimum qualification, age and experience criteria for each post.
- Only screened candidates meeting the qualitative requirements will be called telephonically for an interview.
- Candidates must appear for the interview with all original certificates, mark sheets and documents.
- No TA/DA (travelling/dearness allowance) is admissible for attending the interview.
- Selected candidates for the posts of Medical Officer, Radiologist, Gynaecologist and Dental Officer will be required to undergo 10 days of On-the-Job Training (OJT)/handing-taking over and obtain a certificate from a Medical Officer of the ECHS Polyclinic before signing the contract.
- Reservation will be given to Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and Widows of service personnel, including War Widows (Veer Naris), as per the criteria in the notification.

Applications must be submitted only in physical/offline form, as per the prescribed format, along with self-attested photocopies of the required documents. Candidates should follow these steps:
