Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifications: Ph.D. with First Class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch/specialization with excellent academic record throughout.
- Professor Experience: Minimum of 10 years of teaching/research experience, of which at least 04 years should be at the level of Associate Professor at an institution of repute.
- Associate Professor Experience: Minimum of 06 years of teaching/research experience, of which at least 03 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor (Grade-I) at an institution of repute.
- Must have a strong academic background and understanding of current developments in their field.
- Publications in peer-reviewed Web of Science-Q1/Q2 indexed journals will be considered for research evidence. Preference given to FT50 journals.
- All qualifications must be from UGC/AICTE recognized University/Institution.
Salary/Stipend
- Professor: Academic Pay Level 14A: ₹ 1,59,100 (Entry Pay) to ₹ 2,20,200 (Max Pay) per month.
- Associate Professor: Academic Pay Level 13A2: ₹ 1,39,600 (Entry Pay) to ₹ 2,11,300 (Max Pay) per month.
- The pay carries all allowances entitled to central government employees stationed at Mumbai such as DA and HRA/Campus Accommodation.
- Additional benefits include reimbursement of telephone bills, LTC, medical insurance, education allowance for children, NPS contribution, faculty development allowance, financial support for national and international conferences, FPDF of ₹ 3 Lakhs every 3 years, and a Seed grant up to ₹ 15 Lakhs for research.
Age Limit (as on 20-01-2026)
- Preferable upper age limit for Professor is 50 years.
- Preferable upper age limit for Associate Professor is 45 years.
- The Institute may consider relaxation in age in exceptional and deserving cases.

Selection Process
- Only eligible candidates shortlisted by the Screening Committee based on qualification, experience, and publication records will be invited for a presentation followed by a personal interview.
- The interview may be held in physical mode on IIM Mumbai campus or online via MS Teams/WebEx.
- The selection committee may recommend candidates for appointment to a different position (e.g., contractual offer) than the one applied for.
- Final decision regarding selection, recruitment, and appointment rests with the Competent Authority of the Institute.
General Information/Instructions
- The Institute follows the Reservation Policy as per the Government of India rules for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PWD categories.
- Indian nationals, OCI holders, and dual citizens may apply and must submit relevant certificates.
- For regular appointments, there would be a probation period of 2 years. The Institute may also consider candidates for contractual positions of one or two years.
- Persons employed in government/semi-government/educational institutions must apply through proper channels or provide a 'No Objection Certificate' (NOC) at the time of the interview.
- Only candidates called for presentation/interview on the IIM Mumbai campus will be reimbursed economy class airfare within India via authorized agencies.
