Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have passed HSC with Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology or Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any one of the related subjects.
- Candidates must also possess a one-year Certificate Course in Audiometry from a recognized Government Medical Institution or an institution recognized by State / Central Government, or a Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS), or a Bachelor of Science in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) from a University recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India.
- Applicants must possess the required qualification on the date of notification, i.e., 03.12.2025.
Age Limit (as on 01-07-2025)
- For all categories (SC / ST / SCA / BC / BCM / MBC & DNC): Minimum 18 years; no maximum age limit, subject to applicants not having completed 60 years at the time of selection / appointment.
- For OC candidates: Minimum 18 years and maximum 32 years.
- For Differently Abled persons (OC): Minimum 18 years and maximum 42 years; for SC / ST / SCA / BC / BCM / MBC & DNC there is no maximum age limit with overall 60 years cap.
- For Ex-servicemen (OC): Minimum 18 years and maximum 48 years; for SC / ST / BC / MBC / DNC / BCM maximum 53 years.
- For Destitute Widows (OC): Minimum 18 years and maximum 59 years; for reserved categories no maximum age limit with overall 60 years cap.
Application Fee
- SC / SCA / ST / Destitute Widow / DAP: Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred only).
- Others: Rs. 600/- (Rupees Six Hundred only).
- Fee must be paid only through online mode using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or Mobile Wallet as per instructions in Annexure-1; once paid, the fee will not be refunded or adjusted for any reason.
Salary/Stipend
- The selected candidates will be placed in Level – 8 of the pay matrix with a scale of pay of Rs. 19,500 – 71,900 as per 7th Pay Commission.
- Other conditions related to joining time, probation, training and pay modifications are as per Annexure-6 of the notification.
Selection Process
- Selection will be made based on marks scored by candidates in their academic and technical qualifications for the post of Audiometrician, following rules of reservation and communal rotation of Government of Tamil Nadu.
- Weightage of marks: 50% for Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Audiometry / DHLS / BASLP, 30% for HSC / PUC, and 20% for SSLC / 10th.
- There will be no oral test (interview) for this post.
- Where technical qualification does not award marks, selection will be based on SSLC or HSC marks alone as per relevant Government Orders.

- Candidates should apply only through online mode at the Medical Services Recruitment Board website www.mrb.tn.gov.in.
- On the home page, click “Online Registration”, select the post “Audiometrician” and fill in all required particulars without skipping any field.
- Candidates must keep ready scanned images of their colour photograph and signature as per specified guidelines and upload them in the online application.
- Valid e-mail ID and mobile number are mandatory, and all communications from MRB will be sent only to the registered primary mobile number and e-mail ID.
- All supporting documents for claims made in the application must be uploaded at the time of submission; failure to upload required documents will lead to rejection after due process.
- Applications are to be submitted only online; printed applications or certificates should not be sent to MRB.

Instructions
- Candidates must carefully read and familiarize themselves with the detailed notification and instructions before applying online.
- Incomplete applications and applications with incorrect particulars regarding reservation category, eligibility, age, communal category, educational qualification or other basic criteria will be summarily rejected after due process.
- Applicants are solely responsible for the correctness of details furnished in the online application and cannot blame intermediaries like browsing centres for mistakes.
- All original certificates must be produced at the time of certificate verification along with one set of attested photocopies and two recent passport-size photographs.
- Candidates provisionally selected will have to produce a certificate of physical fitness including vision certificate in the prescribed form.
- Successful candidates must join duty within the time granted by the appointing authority; failure to join within stipulated time will result in removal of their name from the approved list.
