Eligibility Criteria
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
- Educational Qualification (any one of the following full-time/recognized degrees):
- Full time B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from a Central or State Institute of Hotel Management (CIHM/SIHM/PIHM) affiliated to NCHM&CT/UGC/AICTE/Government of India.
- BBA/MBA (Culinary Arts) from Indian Culinary Institutes under Ministry of Tourism.
- B.Sc. Hotel Management and Catering Science from Government recognized Universities affiliated to UGC/AICTE/Government of India/State Government.
- MBA (Tourism and Hotel Management) from Government recognized Universities affiliated to UGC/AICTE/Government of India/State Government.
- Freshers with relevant educational qualification will only be eligible to apply.
- All educational, professional and technical qualifications must be from recognized Boards/Universities.
Salary/Stipend
- Total CTC: Rs. 30,000/- per month (inclusive of statutory deductions) and other allowances as applicable.
- Daily Allowance: Rs. 350/- per day for on-duty on-board in trains (100% for more than 12 hours, 70% for 6–12 hours, 30% for less than 6 hours).
- Lodging Charges: Rs. 240/- per night if night stay is involved at outstation.
- National Holiday Allowance (NHA): As per extant policy, if worked.
- Medical Insurance: On per month basis as per extant policy, reimbursable on submission of valid documents.
Age Limit
- Upper age limit: 27 years for UR candidates.
- Upper age relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST applicants.
- Upper age relaxable by 3 years for OBC applicants.
- Upper age relaxable by 10 years for PwBD applicants.
- For Ex-servicemen: Up to the extent of service rendered in defence forces (Army, Navy & Air Force) plus 3 years.
Application Fee

Important Dates
Selection Process
- Candidates must fill the prescribed application form (attached with the notification) completely and submit it at the interview venue.
- The completed form must be accompanied by original documents, one set of attested copies of requisite documents and two recent passport-size photographs.
- Selection will be based on credentials and performance in personal interview; shortlisted candidates will be placed in order of merit and offered engagement subject to verification of antecedents.
- In addition to selected candidates, a 100% Reserve Panel will be formed.
- Engagement is subject to medical fitness as prescribed by IRCTC.
General Information/Instructions
- This engagement is purely contractual and does not confer any right for regular/permanent employment in IRCTC.
- Initial contract is for 2 years and may be extended by one year based on requirement and satisfactory performance; contract may be terminated by one month’s notice by either side, or without notice if performance is not satisfactory.
- Those working in Government/PSUs may apply through proper channel or submit NOC at the time of interview or proper relieving letter in case of selection.
- IRCTC reserves the right to cancel/amend the advertisement and/or selection process at any time without prior notice.
- The number of vacancies (including Reserve Panel) may increase or decrease depending on actual requirement at the time of engagement.
- Candidates must ensure they fulfil eligibility criteria; furnishing false/incorrect information or suppression of material facts will lead to termination of candidature/services.
- Selected candidates must furnish a security deposit of Rs. 25,000/- in the form of Demand Draft payable to IRCTC Ltd., Mumbai.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.
- Knowledge of computer (MS Office) and report preparation, and ability to solve problems and make rational decisions, are desirable.
- Candidates can appear for interview at any one convenient place only.
How to Apply
- Download and fill the prescribed application form attached with the notification, ensuring all fields are complete and accurate.
- Report at the chosen walk-in venue on the specified date and time with:
- Duly filled and signed application form.
- Original certificates and one set of attested copies of educational qualification, experience, date of birth and category certificates (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Ex-servicemen/PwBD) as applicable.
- Two recent passport-size photographs.
- Submit the application form and documents at the venue for verification before the interview.
- Attend the personal interview as per the schedule; latecomers beyond the stated time window will not be entertained.
