Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda (MRSPTU) has announced 1 vacancy for the post of Registrar, MRSPTU, Bathinda on a tenure basis under advertisement number MRSPTU/ESTB./2026/DPR/596. The tenure shall be for a period of three years or attainment of age of superannuation, whichever is earlier. The post carries a basic pay of Rs. 1,44,200 at Level-14 and requires a Master's Degree with at least 55% marks along with 15 years experience. Who Can Apply

Candidates must satisfy the essential qualifications and language conditions as per UGC guidelines on or before the closing date:

• Master's Degree with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.
• At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in the Academic Level 11 and above or with 8 years of service in the Academic Level 12 and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration, OR
• Comparable experience in research establishment and/ or other Institutions of higher education, OR
• 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.
• Knowledge of Punjabi upto Matric standard is essential.

Desirable:

• Ph.D. in any subject from a reputed Institution.
• Experience of Administrative practice, human resource management, statutory functions and academic activities of Universities/ R&D institutions.
• Experience of handling legal matters.

The notification does not specify a minimum or maximum age limit. The tenure is valid for a period of three years or until attainment of the age of superannuation, whichever is earlier.

Pay and Terms

The post carries a pay scale of Level-14 with a basic pay of Rs. 1,44,200/- plus allowances as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Instructions regarding pay scale and salary issued by the Government of Punjab (Department of Finance/Department of Technical Education) and the UGC from time to time will be applicable.

The appointment is on a tenure basis for a period of three years or until the attainment of the age of superannuation, whichever is earlier.

2. Take a printout of the submitted online application form.
3. Paste a latest passport photograph on the printed application form and sign the application.
4. Prepare a Demand Draft for the application fee in favour of "Registrar, MRSPTU, Bathinda" payable at Bathinda. The fee is Rs. 590/- for General candidates and Rs. 295/- for SC/ST candidates (inclusive of 18% GST).
5. Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents, mark sheets, degree certificates, experience certificates, and proof of Punjabi upto Matric standard.
6. Submit the signed application along with the Demand Draft and enclosures by Speed Post, Registered Post, or personally so that it reaches the university latest by 10.11.2026 (5:00 PM).

Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria, academic record, and experience laid down in the notification. The dates and mode of interview will be communicated through email or the university website only to the shortlisted candidates. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Important Instructions

• Original documents as mentioned in application forms (academic, experience, research publications, etc.) will have to be shown at the time of interview or when asked by the University.
• Candidates who already applied for this post against Advt. No. MRSPTU/ESTB./2024/DPR/535 shall be required to apply again as per the prescribed format, but they are not required to deposit the application fee again. Their previous application will not be considered.
• Candidates will be eligible only if they possess degree certificate / gazette result notification / all original Detailed Marks Cards (DMCs) issued on or before the last date of application. Self-attested photocopies of all these certificates must be attached with the application. Provisional certificates issued prior to gazette result notification will not be considered.
• Candidates must clearly mention the conversion formula of CGPA to percentage marks and percentage of marks in the appropriate place.
• In-service candidates shall submit their application through proper channel; however, an advance copy may be sent.
• Candidates must provide a valid and active email address and mobile number in the online application, and ensure all columns of the form are completed. The university will not be responsible for non-receipt/late receipt due to postal delay or loss of email/communication due to a wrong address.
• Canvassing in any form is prohibited and will be treated as a disqualification for the post.
• The university reserves the right not to fill the above post.
