Entitlements and Service Conditions

Beyond the fixed monthly remuneration, Young Professionals engaged under this notification are entitled to a specific set of leave, increment, gratuity, and medical benefits, along with clearly defined limits on other allowances.

  • Leave: One day of paid leave for every 20 days of work, to be availed only with prior approval of the controlling officer after it becomes due, not in advance.
  • Increment: Entitlement to an 8% annual increase in remuneration.
  • Gratuity: Eligible for gratuity if the candidate renders service under the contract for a period of one year, as applicable under the Industrial Relations Code, 2020.
  • TA/DA: No TA/DA is admissible for joining the assignment or on its completion; however, if deputed to out-station units during professional duties, TA/DA admissible will be at par with an E-1 level officer of SPMCIL.
  • Medical: Reimbursement of premium for a Mediclaim Policy up to Rs. 2 Lacs from a PSU insurance company for self, spouse, and dependent children, applicable only for engagement periods exceeding 6 months; no other medical benefits are available.
  • Other allowances: No facilities such as DA, accommodation, telephone, conveyance/transport, personal staff, or additional medical reimbursement are admissible.

Terms of Engagement

Candidates should understand that this is a temporary, fixed-term engagement and not a route to regular employment with SPMCIL. The key terms are outlined below.

  • Young Professionals are engaged for a fixed period to provide high-quality services for specific, time-bound jobs, on a full-time basis.
  • Engaged candidates are not permitted to take up any other assignment during their period of engagement with SPMCIL.
  • The engagement is of a temporary (non-official) nature and can be cancelled at any time without assigning any reason.
  • The engagement does not confer any right to future regular employment in SPMCIL and is to be treated strictly as a fixed-term contract engagement.
  • The tenure is 3 years; however, based on performance, it can be terminated earlier or further extended.

Identity Verification and Admit Card

Candidates need a valid photo ID at both the examination center and the interview, and certain ID documents are explicitly not accepted for this recruitment. Here's what to keep in mind.

  • Accepted photo IDs include PAN Card, Passport, Permanent Driving License, Voter's Card, Bank Passbook with photograph, Aadhaar/E-Aadhaar with photograph, Employee ID, and Bar Council Identity Card with photograph, among others specified in the notification.
  • Ration Card and Learner's Driving License are not valid ID proof for this recruitment.
  • The name on the Admit Card must exactly match the name on the photo identity proof; female candidates who have changed their name post-marriage must carry original Gazette notification, marriage certificate, or affidavit if there is a mismatch.
  • The Admit Card can be downloaded only from www.spmcil.com using the Application Number and Password; no admit card will be sent by post.

Common Mistakes Candidates Should Avoid

Several small errors can cost an otherwise eligible candidate their chance in this recruitment, especially given the strict document and identity verification rules. Being aware of these in advance can help applicants avoid rejection.

  • Applying for more than one post: Candidates may apply for only one post among those advertised, since exams for different posts may be held on the same day.
  • Submitting an unclear photograph or signature: Uploaded images that are not clear and appropriately visible may lead to summary rejection of the application.
  • Using a photo ID not accepted by SPMCIL: Carrying a Ration Card or Learner's Driving License as identity proof will not be accepted at the exam center or interview.
  • Waiting until the last day to apply: SPMCIL has explicitly stated it takes no responsibility for failed submissions caused by website load near the closing date.
  • Mismatched name across documents: A name mismatch between the Admit Card and photo ID, without supporting legal documents for a name change, will result in the candidate not being allowed to appear.
  • Assuming fee/intimation charges are refundable: The Rs. 200 intimation charge is explicitly non-refundable, even in the case of multiple applications or cancelled candidature.
  • Missing the age-computation date: Age, qualification, and experience are computed as on the closing date (17.08.2026), not the date of applying, so candidates should verify their eligibility against that specific date.
