Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualification: MS ENT in respective department
  • Essential Qualification: A Medical qualification as included in schedule I &II of MCI
  • Essential Qualification: MCI recognized P.G. qualification of MS in respective department.
  • The candidate must be registered with Central/State Medical Council.

Salary/ Stipend

  • As per Institute rule, (Rs.67700/-NPA+ usual allowance as admissible for senior resident in this institute)

Age Limit (as on 21 February 2025)

  • Upper Age limit: 45 (Forty -Five) Years
  • Relaxation as per State Govt. Rule, i.e., 05 Years for SC/ST, 03 Years for EBC/BC and 03 years for all categories of Female Candidate).

Application Fee

  • RS.1000/- (Rupees one Thousand) For UR/EWS/BC/EBC candidate
  • RS.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred &Fifty) for SC/ST candidate (Non-refundable payable to The Director, IGIMS, Patna, in the form of Demand Draft.

Selection Process

  • Walk-in-interview
  • The scheme of marking for such ad-hoc appointments shall be as under:
  • MBBS - 10 marks (-2 for each failure)
  • MS/MD/DNB - 10 marks (-5 for each failure)
  • Additional qualification - 10 marks
  • Publication - 10 marks (6+4) (2 each for Pub Med for maximum of 6 marks) (2 each for other than Pub Med for maximum of 4 marks)
  • Poster/Presentation – 10 marks (2 mark each for maximum of 10)
  • Academic Award – 10 marks (2 mark each for maximum of 10)
  • Specialized training – 10 marks (3 months training: 2 marks/3-6 months training: 5 marks/> 6 months training: 10 marks)
  • Project (extra/intramural) – 10 marks
  • Subject Knowledge – 20 marks
  • Total = 100 marks
  • The minimum qualifying criteria for appointment to the post of Senior Residents shall be as under:
  • UR – 50th Percentile
  • BC/EBC/EWS – 45th Percentile
  • SC/ST – 40th Percentile

General Information / Instructions

  • Reservation benefit shall be applicable to Bihar State Domicile Candidate only and the application from out-side the state of Bihar will not be entitled for the reservation; Physically -Handicapped Candidates will be given the benefit of reservation and relaxation as per rule of Govt. of Bihar.
  • Candidates employed in Government/Semi Government Department or any other employer must submit their application along- with "No Objection Certificate" issued by the employer, at the time of interview, otherwise they will not be consider for selection in case of not in employment, candidate must submit in writing that they are neither employed at any organization or nor doing any course anywhere.
  • SC/ST candidate must attach their Caste Certificate issued by Circle Officer of respective District/Circle of Bihar along with application form EBC-(MBC)/By candidate must attach their Caste certificate along with Certificate of exemption from Creamy Layer duly issued by the Circle officer of respective Districts/Circle of Bihar along with application form ,if claimed for reservation.
  • Reservation point and relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable as per rule of Govt. of Bihar Benefit of reservation will be given to Bihar State domicile only and the applicant out-side of State of Bihar will not be entitled for the benefit of reservation. Handicapped person/candidate will be given the benefit of reservation as per rule of Govt. of Bihar. Person working in Govt. Institution shall be given relaxation as per rule.
  • Number of vacancy in the department may increase or decrease. Also in case of unavailability of eligible Female Candidate/where applicable ) Male candidate for respective department may be considered.
  • In addition to Pay + NPA, other allowances will be admissible as per rule.
  • The post are non- practicing, Private Practice of any kind, direct or in-direct, including laboratory is strictly prohibited and if found indulging in such private- practice, appointment of candidate shall be terminated
  • Stay in campus is compulsory, if accommodation is provided, if not provided, HRA'S Admissible as per rule
  • The Director of the Institute reserves the right to reject/accept any or all the applications without assigning any reason and cancel the advertisement.
  • Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification
  • No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview
  • Merit selection by the Selection Committee does not give right of appointment to the candidate. The Institute reserves the right of appointment of the candidate's recommended by the Selection Committee.

  • Indian citizen who fulfill the essential qualification, are required to participate in the Walk-in interview as mentioned above, along-with their application form in the prescribed Performa with requisite fee and copies of all supportive certificate/document including all original Certificate /documents, as proof of age, Qualification. Reservation, Caste etc. (Please present original certificate, before the interview Board).
