Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

Age Limit
The age limit for this recruitment is calculated as on 1 January 2026, and it applies uniformly since this recruitment is conducted only for SEBC/SC/ST candidates. A special age relaxation exists for Persons with Disabilities within these categories.
- A candidate must have attained 21 years and must not be above 47 years on 1 January 2026, i.e., born not earlier than 2 January 1979 and not later than 1 January 2005.
- Persons with disabilities belonging to SEBC/SC/ST categories, whose permanent disability is 40% or more, are eligible for an age relaxation of 10 years over and above 47 years.
- A candidate falling under more than one relaxation category is eligible for only one benefit of upper age relaxation, whichever is most beneficial.
- Save as provided above, the age limits prescribed can in no case be relaxed. Date of birth entered in the High School Certificate (or equivalent) will only be accepted by the Commission.

- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The candidate must be of sound health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the discharge of duties.
- The candidate must be able to speak, read, and write Odia, satisfied through one of: passing M.E. School or higher with Odia as a language subject; passing Matriculation with Odia as the medium of examination in a non-language subject; passing Odia as a language subject in the Class VII final examination from a recognized school; or passing a test in Odia at Middle English School standard conducted by the School & Mass Education Department/Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
- A married candidate must not have more than one spouse living, subject to exemptions permissible under applicable personal law.
- Government servants are eligible to apply, provided they inform their Head of Office in writing about the application and furnish a No Objection Certificate (NOC) during document verification.
- A candidate debarred by OPSC, another State PSC, or UPSC for a specific period will not be eligible during that debarment period.
- The candidate must register under the Odisha Veterinary Practitioners Act, 1970 on or before the closing date of the online application.
- Every candidate selected for appointment will be examined by a Medical Board, and failure to satisfy the requirement will result in non-appointment.
