One post of Joint Director (Class-I) (Dy.HoD) in the R&P Division, Traffic Department of Visakhapatnam Port Authority has fallen vacant. This post is to be filled up by absorption through the Composite method of recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualifications (Essential):
  • Degree in Economics or Statistics or Mathematics or Computer Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Twelve years executive experience in planning or in collection, compilation and interpretation of data or in conducting field surveys, investigations etc. or in the field of Electronic Data Processing/Information Technology.
• Qualifications (Desirable):
  • Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Economics or Statistics or Mathematics or Operational research or Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Information Technology or Information Systems or MIS or Systems or Computer Applications or Business Admn. (PG Degree/Diploma) with specialization in systems or Information systems or MIS or information technology and allied subjects from a recognized University/institution.
• For absorption through composite method, officers must be holding analogous posts or Sr. Dy. Director (Research/EDP) and equivalent posts in specific pay scales with required regular service duration in a Major Port Trust.

Salary/Stipend

• Scale of Pay: Rs. 80,000-2,20,000.

Selection Process

• The selection is by merit, for which the benchmark in overall grading in the ACRs/APARs will not be below 'Very Good' for the last five years (2020-2021 to 2024-2025).
• The selection is done by a Services Selection Committee.
• Candidature can be debarred for two years if withdrawn after selection by the Committee.

General Information/Instructions

• Only applications submitted through the Online Application Portal (OAP) of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (http://onlinevacancy.shipmin.nic.in) will be accepted.
• Advance copies of applications may be sent, but the application must be received through the proper channel from the parent Port within 15 days of the closing date of applications to be considered.
• The veracity of university certificates and the recognition of the degree obtained by the applicant must be ensured and certified by the forwarding Port.
• No application other than OAP will be accepted.

• Register and apply through the 'online Application Portal' (OAP) of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways at `http://onlinevacancy.shipmin.nic.in` from December 17, 2025, to January 19, 2026.
• Take a print-out of the online application form.
• The print-out should be sent through the proper channel (via the parent Port Authority Secretary) along with certified copies of educational qualifications, experience, integrity certificate, vigilance clearance, NOC, self-undertaking, and attested ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years.
• The envelope containing the hard copy must be superscribed "Application for the post of Joint Director (Class-I), R&P Division, Visakhapatnam Port Authority".
• The hard copy must reach The Secretary, Visakhapatnam Port Authority, 1st Floor, Administrative Office Building, Port Area, Visakhapatnam - 530 035 on or before February 3, 2026.
