Civil services selection procedure: union public service commission – upsc conducts civil services examination every year and selects eligible candidates as IAS, IFS, IPS, and central govt Group A and group B vacancies through written test and interview phases. The eligible candidates may apply through online and offline application mode. The civil service examination will consist of two successive stages.

1) Preliminary examination (written test)
2) Main examination (written test and interview)

1) Preliminary examination: This exam consists 2 papers of 200 marks each, time duration for each paper 2 hours .The both papers questions objective type in Hindi and English language .This examination conducts for the candidates qualifying purpose to Main exams. The number of candidates to be admitted to the main examination will be taken as 1:12 or 1:13 ratio for the number of vacancies to be filled in the year.

2. A. Main examination: On the basis of preliminary examination candidates have been selected for main examination .The main examination consists of written examination and interview test. The written examination consists of 9 papers of essay type questions, 300 maximum marks for each question paper except third paper essay 200 Maximum marks only, 3 hours time duration for each paper. Question papers will be give in Hindi and English language.

2. B. Interview: The interview will carry 300 marks .Depend upon the number of vacancies, candidates will be called for Interview by conducting in 1:2 ratio. The candidates have to answer the questions on general knowledge, leadership qualities, study academic details, behavior, and this type of questions asked by the Interview Board.

Final selection would be done on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the main examination would determine their final ranking.

The candidates will be allotted to the various vacancies based on the final ranking.

The candidates must be physically fit and medically according to the physical standards for admission to the civil services examination

      The eligibility criteria for civil services is:
      Age limit: age between 21 to 30 years
      Qualification:candidates must be a graduation completed from the recognized university
