Eligibility Criteria
- Essential Qualifications:
- Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or equivalent degree from an accredited Foreign University
- Relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) at Master's and Bachelor's Degree level for ST/SC candidates
- Additional Requirements (Any One):
- Cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR
- Cleared similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET
- Awarded Ph.D. Degree in accordance with UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and amendments
- Ph.D. Degree obtained from a Foreign University/Institution ranking among top 500 in World University Rankings by QS, THE, or ARWU
- Exemption from NET/SLET/SET:
- Candidates registered for Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009 (subject to specific conditions)
- Candidates awarded Ph.D. degree as per UGC Regulations 2009
- NET/SLET/SET not required for Master Programme in disciplines for which such tests are not conducted
- Desirable:
- Research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals

Salary/Stipend

Selection Process
- Selection Method: Through Viva-voce/Interview only
- Total Interview Marks: 100 marks
- Screening Committee: Commission will constitute a Screening Committee to shortlist candidates eligible for interview as per Appendix-II (Table 3B), UGC Regulations 2018
- Interview Ratio: Eligible candidates will be invited for interview in the ratio of 1:3 subject to availability based on their score in Appendix-II (Table 3B)
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score minimum 50% of total marks in the interview to qualify for selection

- Shortlisting Criteria: Academic score as specified in Appendix-II (Table 3B) for Colleges will be considered for shortlisting only; final selection based on interview performance

- APPSC invites online applications from citizens of India for Assistant Professor Examination-2026
- The number of vacancies and reservation for APST and PwBD candidates are as per Requisition Proforma submitted by the indenting/requisitioning departments
- Candidates must mandatorily register for One Time Registration (OTR) before filling online application
- Those already registered in OTR need not register again and can directly login
- Applicants in Government Service must upload intimation to Head of Department or NOC
- Only single application should be submitted; if multiple applications submitted, highest Registration ID (RID) will be accepted
- Fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID
- Application form once submitted cannot be changed or modified
- Candidates must carefully read the DISCLAIMER before final submission
- Wrong information at any stage may lead to cancellation of candidature
- Eligible candidates must produce all original certificates at the time of interview
