Eligibility Criteria

  • One Resource Person should preferably be a former bank officer with rural banking background and experience in designing rural banking products.
  • Academic Qualification:
    • Resource Person 1: Post Graduate in Business Management, Rural Management, or Cooperative Management. CAIIB is an added advantage.
    • Resource Person 2: Graduation in any discipline.
  • Technology know-how: Candidate should be technology savvy; a degree/diploma in technology is desirable.
  • Essential Minimum Experience: At least five years’ experience in any one of:
    • Rural financial institution, NBFC, MFI, Insurance, Sales and Retail or other relevant developmental institution (e.g., SIDBI, NABARD), with rural banking experience and familiarity with rural banking practices for former bank officers.
    • Line departments of State or Central Government with project implementing experience.
    • Research or teaching institutions (ICAR/CSIR etc.) in development/popularising technologies suitable for rural areas.
  • Age:
    • Preferred age less than 50 years; relaxable by selection committee depending on education, experience and ability.
    • For retired/resigned officers with suitable experience in diversified products: up to 65 years, with minimum positions at retirement:
      • Bankers: sufficient years at branch level and decision-making level (Scale III/IV) in loan appraisal and selection.
      • Line Department Officials: at least Executive Engineer or equivalent.
      • Academic/Faculty: at least Associate Professor or equivalent.
  • Language: Must be proficient in the local language and have working knowledge of English/Hindi.

Salary/Stipend

General Information/Instructions

  • Objective of BDPIC: To support the State Cooperative Bank’s efforts in setting up Business Diversification and Product Innovation Cells to integrate new products into existing product lines based on external and internal business environment.
  • The scheme intends to innovate products (financial and non-financial) for the entire cooperative credit structure: StCB, DCCBs and PACS.
  • Functions of BDPIC include:
    • Potential assessment considering business profile of STCCS and opportunities at StCB, DCCB and PACS levels.
    • Market research on financial products offered by banks and other institutions (including MFIs, NBFCs) and their suitability through cooperative institutions.
    • Developing models and designing new products for business improvement to meet growing member needs.
    • Re-engineering existing product basket and business processes for product and process innovation.
    • Exploring collaborations with Central/State Govt. or private sector for co-branded products in focus areas of government schemes.
    • Continuous interaction with PACS, DCCBs, NABARD, bankers and other stakeholders.
    • Documenting success stories and learnings for replication across structures and geographies.
    • Monitoring and reporting progress to the Project Advisory Committee (PAC)/NABARD Regional Office at quarterly intervals.
  • Staffing Pattern: BDPIC will consist of two Resource Persons; support services for office running, typing and data entry will be provided by StCB, with a reporting structure to a GM/DGM-level officer handling credit/planning.
  • Tenure: Resource Persons are engaged on contract basis for the specific project period up to 02-02-2027.
  • Execution of Bond: StCB may develop suitable terms and conditions of appointment including bond conditions.
  • The Managing Director/CEO of HARCO Bank reserves the right to cancel the appointment process without assigning any reason.
