Eligibility Criteria
For Examiner of Trade Marks & Geographical Indications:
- Educational Qualification: Degree in law of a recognized University
- Experience: Two years' experience in handling Court cases and other legal matters or in handling matters of Trade marks and Geographical Indications
- Desirable Qualification: Master's Degree in Intellectual Property of a recognized University
- Note: The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified
- Note: The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes, if sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available
For Deputy Director (Examination Reforms):
- Educational Qualification: Ph.D in any discipline in Humanities or Science or Commerce or Engineering/Technology or in a professional course such as Law or Management or Finance or Accounts from a recognized University or Institute
- Experience: Five years post qualification experience in teaching at degree level / research / preparation of teaching learning material / curriculum development / educational testing / examination reforms / development & administration of online examinations
- Desirable Qualification: One year Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized Institute
- Desirable Experience: Two years' experience in software applications

Selection Process
- Selection will be made through Interview or Recruitment Test followed by Interview as decided by the Commission
- The Commission may adopt short listing criteria to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number
- Short listing may be done on the basis of Desirable Qualification, higher educational qualifications, higher experience, or by holding a Recruitment Test
- Minimum qualifying marks in Interview:
- UR candidates: 50 marks out of 100
- OBC candidates: 45 marks out of 100
- SC/ST/PH candidates: 40 marks out of 100
- In case of Recruitment Test followed by interview, candidates must achieve minimum level of suitability at both stages
- Candidates shortlisted for interview will be required to produce original documents and certificates at the time of interview
