Eligibility Criteria
- Essential Qualification: Master's degree (M.Tech / M.Sc.) in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mining Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, etc.). GATE score is necessary in the relevant discipline. Minimum academic performance as per institute norms (usually 60% or equivalent CGPA).
- Desirable Qualification: Prior research/project experience. Exposure to data analysis, programming, AI/ML, GIS, or domain-specific tools (as applicable). Programming: Python / R / MATLAB, LLMs, document processing, text mining. Periodic progress reports (monthly/quarterly), Research papers/conference submissions.
Salary/ Stipend
- Rs. 31,000/- per month (consolidated)
Age Limit (as on Interview Date)
- The upper age limit is 35 years at the time of interview.
- Age relaxation for SC/ST candidates and OBC Candidates as per GOI rules, and 2 years for the candidates with research/ work experience in relevant industries.

Selection Process
- Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on merit.
- Shortlisted candidates should appear for the interview in person with original degree certificates (one set of Xerox), date of birth proof along with any other relevant documents (like copies of publications, awards, experience, recommendations, etc.).
- The date and time of interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates through email.
- No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates called for interview.

- Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the advertised position.
- The award of fellowship does not imply any employment guarantee by the sponsor or IIT(ISM) of the project.
- The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project sanctioned for a maximum period of 2 years. The appointment will be extended till the duration of the project extension if any, subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate.
- The selected candidates will have 2 weeks to join in the project from the date of communication of the result.
