Qualifications:
Professor (Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages, Library Science, Journalism & Mass Communication):
Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline with published work of high quality.
Master's Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
Minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
Total research score of 120 as per UGC criteria.
Minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor.
Evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidates.
Professor (Computer Science):
Ph.D. degree in relevant field and First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor's or Master's level.
At least 10 research publications in SCI journals/UGC/AICTE approved list of journals.
Minimum of 10 years teaching/research experience, out of which at least 2 years shall be post Ph.D. experience.
Evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidates.
Professor (Pharmacy):
Basic degree in pharmacy (B.Pharm.).
Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
Ph.D. Degree with First Class at Bachelor's or Master's Degree in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy.
Experience of ten years in teaching, research, industry and/or profession at the level of Lecturer or equivalent grade.
Professor (Business Management):
Ph.D. degree in relevant field and First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor's or Master's level.
Minimum of 10 years experience in teaching/research/industry, out of which at least 3 years at Associate Professor level.
At least 10 research publications in SCI journals/UGC/AICTE approved list of journals.
Professor (Education):
Master's Degree in Arts/Humanities/Sciences/Commerce and M.Ed. each with minimum 55% marks, OR M.A. (Education) with 55% marks and B.Ed. with 55% marks.
Ph.D. in Education.

Essential Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the required qualifications on the last date of online application (15.01.2026).

Ph.D. Degree is mandatory for appointment to Professor and Associate Professor posts.
All degrees must be from recognized Indian University or equivalent degree from accredited foreign university.
Where Marksheet reflects grades only, it is mandatory to provide a Percentage Certificate issued by the Respective University.
Candidates awarded degrees by Foreign Universities shall be required to submit Equivalence Certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities or UGC, New Delhi.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/SEBC/EWS must submit valid category certificate.
SEBC candidates must submit Non-Creamy Layer Certificate in format prescribed by Government of Gujarat (certificate issued in Gujarati only accepted).
PwBD candidates must submit Disability Certificate issued by competent authority.
Candidates already in service must submit 'No Objection Certificate (NOC)' from present employer.
Appointed teachers must achieve necessary proficiency in Gujarati language within one year from date of appointment.

Experience:
For Professor: Minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and/or research experience at equivalent level with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidates.
For Associate Professor: Minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor.
The time taken by candidates to acquire M.Phil. and/or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as teaching/research experience.
However, the period of active service spent on pursuing Research Degree simultaneously with teaching assignment without taking any kind of leave shall be counted as teaching experience.
Experience gained as honorary/Part-Time/Visiting/Trainee/Adjunct faculties will not be considered.
Experience will be counted subject to: Appointment letter, University Approval, Experience/Endorsement letter, and Proof of full salary (Bank Statement/Form-16/Form AS-26).
Salary/Stipend
Professor: Academic Level-14 with Rationalized Entry Pay Rs. 1,44,200/- Per Month as per 7th Pay Commission.
Associate Professor: Academic Level-13A with Rationalized Entry Pay Rs. 1,31,400/- Per Month as per 7th Pay Commission.
Pay Scales and other salary benefits as per approval by the Government of Gujarat.
Pay fixation and other monetary benefits for Gujarat state service shall be as per rules and approval of Government of Gujarat.
Pay Protection, other entitlements, and service conditions as per rules and regulations laid down by Government of Gujarat from time to time.
Age Limit

Selection Process
The scrutiny and selection procedure will be governed by rules depicted in Gujarat Public Universities Act-2023 and Gujarat Public Universities Uniform Statutes-2024.
Direct Recruitment shall be on basis of merit through all India advertisement followed by selections by duly constituted Selection Committees.
All eligible applications received will be screened with respect to eligibility conditions.
For Professor: Candidates must have minimum research score of 120 as per UGC Table-2 criteria.
For Associate Professor: Candidates must have minimum research score of 75 as per UGC Table-2 criteria.
The research score shall be from minimum of three categories out of six categories.
In case of more eligible applications, shortlisting of candidates for interview will be done by duly constituted Screening Committee.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview.
Interview Call Letter to eligible and shortlisted candidates will be sent to registered email only.
The University reserves right to restrict candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number on basis of qualifications and experience higher than minimum prescribed.
Selection shall be based on performance in the interview.
No TA/DA shall be paid to candidates for attending Personal Interview.
Appointed candidates shall be required to produce medical certificate of physical fitness.

The recruitment process will be carried out as per UGC Regulations 2018, NCTE, AICTE, PCI Norms and subsequent amendments.
The process will follow guidelines from The Gujarat Public Universities Act, 2023 and The Gujarat Public Universities Uniform Statutes-2024.

A relaxation of 5% shall be provided (from 55% to 50%) to Ph.D. Degree holders who obtained Master's Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.
Reservation for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS and PwBD will be as per existing policy of Government of Gujarat.

The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and mere possession will not entitle candidate to be called for interview.
Candidates selected and appointed as Assistant Professor shall have to undergo In-service Teachers' Training Programme during probationary period.
The official language of University is Gujarati, candidates whose mother tongue is other than Gujarati must achieve necessary proficiency within one year.
The selected candidate shall be bound by Act/Statutes/Ordinance/Regulations/Rules of Saurashtra University as amended from time to time.
Appointed teachers may be assigned other academic or administrative responsibilities in addition to regular teaching and research.
