Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications:
All educational qualifications for Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Senior Resident are as per National Medical Commission (NMC, erstwhile MCI) guidelines dated 30.06.2025 for the respective posts and specialties.
Age Limits (as on date of Interview):
Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor: Not exceeding 69 years.
Senior Resident: 45 years (except for Departments of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine and Community Medicine, where upper age is 50 years).
Age relaxation as per prevailing Government of India norms.
Reservation & Certificates:
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD/Ex-servicemen as per Govt. of India guidelines; posts earmarked category-wise through DoPT reservation roster.
EWS candidates must submit EWS certificate as per Annexure-I of DoPT OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt(Res) dated 31.01.2019, based on FY 2024-25 and issued on or after 01.04.2025.
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates must submit OBC (NCL) certificate as per Annexure-I of DoPT OM No. 36036/2/2013-Estt(Res) dated 30.05.2014, based on FY 2024-25 / 2024-23 / 2023-22, issued by officer not below Tehsildar on or after 01.04.2025.
Reservation for PwD (Divyangjan) maintained as per GOI norms; if suitable PwD candidates are not available, posts may be filled from general interview panel for essential services and NMC norms, and PwD reservation carried forward.
Salary/Stipend
Professor: Rs. 1,23,100/- (Level 13 of 7th CPC) plus applicable allowances as per ESIC HQ rules (as amended from time to time).
Associate Professor: Rs. 78,800/- (Level 12 of 7th CPC) plus applicable allowances.
Assistant Professor: Rs. 67,700/- (Level 11 of 7th CPC) plus applicable allowances.
Senior Resident: Rs. 67,700/- (Level 11 of 7th CPC) plus applicable allowances.
Retired employees/pensioners engaged on contract may draw total pay without deduction and continue to draw pension and dearness relief during contractual engagement (not treated as re-employment as per CCS re-employed pensioner orders 1986).

Selection Process
Selection will be based on acquired academic credentials and performance in the interview before the Selection Board.

Offer of appointment will be sent through email only; selected candidates must join as per instructions given in the offer.
Interview opportunity is provisional and subject to detailed scrutiny of eligibility; wrong declarations or false information will lead to cancellation of candidature and possible legal action.
General Information/Instructions
Applications are invited for contractual engagement of teaching faculty (Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor) and Senior Residents for one year, extendable every year up to a maximum of 3 years based on satisfactory performance or till joining of regular incumbent.
Vacancies include PwD and Ex-servicemen; numbers are provisional and may increase or decrease as per teaching and patient care requirements.
In case of non-availability of reserved category candidates, vacancy may be filled for less than 45 days as a de-reserved seat.
No claim for PF, pension, gratuity, medical allowance/benefits, seniority, promotion, TA/DA for conferences, etc. will be admissible; posts are purely contractual with no claim for regularisation.
Maximum tenure of engagement is up to attainment of 70 years of age, subject to fulfilment of other rules and regulations.
Absence from work for more than 7 days without proper permission will be treated as voluntary abandonment and automatic termination.
No private practice is allowed after joining ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Ranchi.
Selected candidates must execute an agreement on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 100/- with the Dean; cost of stamp paper is to be borne by the candidate.
Hostel accommodation/Quarters will not be provided; faculty must mark attendance both manually and on Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS).
Dean/Competent Authority reserves the right to amend, cancel or change the advertisement wholly or partly at any stage without assigning any reason; decision will be final.
No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview or for submission of documents.
