Eligibility Criteria

• Normal/Neighboring resident of Gram Panchayat/Urban Local Bodies falling in the jurisdiction of concerned Veterinary Institution.
• Bonafide resident of Himachal Pradesh.
• Able bodied, physically fit and having a sound mind.
• Should be of sound character.
• Essential qualification: Minimum qualification of Matric (10th) from any School/Institution situated within Himachal Pradesh. The condition of passing 10th from Himachal School shall not be applicable to Bonafide Himachali.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Animal Husbandry Activities.
• Desirable: Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh.

Salary/Stipend

• Honorarium basis of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) per month.
• Engagement is for part time work (04 hours a day).

Age Limit (as on 05-02-2026)

• The candidate should not be less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age as on the last date of receipt of applications.

Selection Process

• Stage-I (Physical Test): The candidate will have to undergo physical test. The candidate should be able to carry 25 Kg weight up to 100 meters within one minute. Schedule containing dates, venue and time for holding physical test will be intimated separately.
• Candidates who qualify/clear the Physical Test will be called for next counselling (Stage-II).
• Stage-II (Preparation of Merit List and Counselling): The Pashu Mitra Engagement Committee (PMEC) will prepare panel of 5 candidates on merit basis for each institution, who will be called for document verification with the originals at the time of counselling prior to engagement.
• The distribution of marks will be as under (Total 100 marks):
  • Essential Educational Qualification (Matric): 85 marks (percentage of marks in Matric multiplied by 0.85).
  • Preference for Practical Experience in Animal Husbandry (as per Annexure-B), maximum 4.5 marks based on type and tagging/registration of livestock or poultry owned by applicant/family.
  • Preference for permanent resident of the Gram Panchayat/ULB where engagement is being done or neighboring Gram Panchayat/ULB, up to 1 mark.
  • Belonging to SC/ST/OBC family: 1 mark.
  • Belonging to BPL/EWS family: 1.5 marks.
  • Widow/Divorced/destitute/Single woman: 1.5 marks.
  • Single daughter/orphan: 1 mark.
  • Land less family/family having land less than 1 Hectare: 2 marks.
  • Non-employment certificate (no family member in Government/Semi Government service): 1.5 marks.
  • NSS (at least one year), NCC, The Bharat Scout and Guide, medal winner in national level sports competition: 1 mark.

General Information/Instructions

• Institution-wise applications from desirous candidates on the prescribed Performa are invited for filling up 122 posts of Multi Task Worker (Pashu Mitra) against vacant posts available at various Veterinary Institutions of District Kangra in Animal Husbandry Department on honorarium basis.
• The applications along with two self-addressed envelopes should reach in the office of Senior Veterinary Officer of the respective Sub Divisional Veterinary Hospital on or before 05-02-2026 at 4.00 PM positively.
• Applications received after due date or found incomplete will be rejected straightway without assigning any reason.
• The department will not be responsible for delay in receipt of applications due to any reason whatsoever.
• The detailed advertisement/information will be available on departmental website http://hpagrisnet.gov.in and information regarding Physical fitness test will also be uploaded on the website.
• The candidate must apply on the prescribed form appended as Annexure-A on A-4 size paper; applications received in any other format will be rejected outrightly.
• The application form should be filled in by the candidate in his/her own handwriting with blue/black ink ball point pen.
• The candidate must fulfill all required essential educational and other qualifications on the last date fixed for submission/receipt of application forms.
• Incomplete application forms, applications without photo, without required enclosures, declaration not signed, or received after due date shall be rejected summarily without assigning any reason.
• Candidates are required to attach photocopies of valid certificates issued by competent authorities with their application form; verification of original documents will be done by the committee at the time of counselling of successful candidates clearing Physical test.
• General instructions also include formats for Livestock Rearing Certificate (Annexure-B) and Medical Certificate (Annexure-C), to be issued by designated authorities as specified in the advertisement.

• The filled application form, in the candidate’s own handwriting with blue/black ink ball point pen, must be submitted along with self-attested photocopies of required documents.
• The application along with two self-addressed envelopes should reach in the office of Senior Veterinary Officer of the respective Sub Divisional Veterinary Hospital on or before 05-02-2026 at 4.00 PM.

  • Identity/proof of residence of local Gram Panchayat/ULB (certified copy of Gram Panchayat/ULB Parivar Register and Aadhaar).
  • Matric Certificate with Mark sheet (for educational qualification and age proof) or Birth Certificate for age proof.
  • Himachali Bonafide Certificate.
  • Character Certificate.
  • Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) if applicable.
  • BPL/EWS Certificate if applicable.
  • Certificates for widow/divorced/destitute/single woman, single daughter/orphan, landless family having less than 1 hectare land, non-employment certificate, NCC/NSS/Scouts & Guides, sports competition, and experience of Animal Husbandry Activities as applicable and issued by competent authorities as specified.
• The declaration at the end of the application form must be signed by the candidate, confirming correctness of information and accepting that engagement is purely as Pashu Mitra without right to claim regularization/absorption as regular employee of the State Government.
