Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification & Experience (for Sr. Medical Officer – Orthopaedics): MBBS + Post Graduate Degree / DNB in relevant specialization with 0 year post-qualification experience; OR MBBS + Post Graduate Diploma in relevant specialization with 1 year post-qualification experience.
Essential Qualification & Experience (for Sr. Medical Officer – General Medicine): MBBS + Post Graduate Degree / DNB in relevant specialization with 0 year post-qualification experience; OR MBBS + Post Graduate Diploma in relevant specialization with 1 year post-qualification experience.
Post-qualification experience refers to experience after acquiring the professional qualification (in relevant specialization) only and not otherwise.
If applicants possess MBBS + PG Diploma and are working in CPSUs / State or Central Govt organizations, they should have minimum one-year experience in the next below grade or in equivalent post.
All qualifications must have been acquired from Indian Universities/Institutes recognized by appropriate statutory authorities.
The candidate should have registered his/her qualification with any State Medical Council under National Medical Commission (NMC), formerly known as Medical Council of India.
Candidates possessing Basic and Qualifying Degrees acquired through Regular/Full-Time courses only will be considered; qualifications acquired through Correspondence/Distance Education/Part Time/E-learning are not eligible.
The percentage of marks in the essential qualification shall be aggregate of all semesters/years and no rounding-off will be done; candidates with CGPA/OGPA/letter grade must provide equivalent percentage as per norms of the University/Institute.
Salary/Stipend
Basic Pay: Grade-III – Rs. 50000 - 3% - 160000.
Dearness Allowance (IDA pattern): Payable as a percentage of Basic Pay; current DA is 51.8% of Basic Pay.
Perquisites & Allowances under Cafeteria system: 35% of running Basic Pay.
Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA): 20% of running Basic Pay.
Special Compensatory Allowance (SCA): 10% of the pre-revised Basic Pay.
Annual Increment: 3% of Basic Pay.
Performance Related Pay (PRP): Up to 20% of Annual Basic Pay, as per company rules.
Other emoluments / benefits include Rent-free accommodation; Provident Fund; Payment of Gratuity; HAL Defined Pension; Casual Leave; Vacation Leave; Medical facilities for self and dependent family members; uniform, shoes, jacket/jerkin, sweater etc., as per company rules.
Financial Assistance Scheme for Dependents of Deceased Employees provides assured regular monthly financial support to dependent beneficiaries to enable them to lead a normal life.
Group Insurance Scheme (GIS), Group Personal Accidental Insurance (GPAI), Employees Group Life Insurance (EGLI) and Employees Benevolent Fund with assured sum to beneficiaries are available as per company rules.
Age Limit (as on 31-01-2026)
Upper age limit is 35 years for Un-Reserved (UR)/General category candidates as on 31-01-2026.
Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in respect of SC/ST candidates, subject to caste/tribe name appearing in the Central List of SC/ST of respective State as notified by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, with proper caste/tribe certificate.
Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years in respect of OBC (NCL) candidates, subject to caste name appearing in the Central List of OBC of respective State for appointment to posts under Government of India and Central Govt. PSUs; OBC (NCL) certificate should not be older than 6 months as on 31-01-2026.
In respect of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs), upper age limit is relaxable by 10 years over and above the relaxation admissible for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) candidates, provided the post is identified as suitable for PwBDs and disability is 40% or more as per RPWD Act 2016 and RPWD Rules 2017.
Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in respect of candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.
Relaxation in age limit in respect of Ex-Servicemen and Serving Officers of Armed Forces will be extended as per company rules, subject to post(s) reserved.
Upper age limit with all relaxations shall not exceed 55 years, except for PwBD candidates; for PwBD candidates, upper age limit with all relaxations shall not exceed 56 years.
Age and Post Professional Qualification Experience will be reckoned as on 31-01-2026.
Application Fee
Application fee is exempted in the case of SC and PwBD candidates.
Application fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only), bank charges extra as applicable and non-refundable, is to be paid by candidates belonging to OBC (NCL) category.
Applicable convenience fee/transaction fee and taxes, if any, over and above the application fee will be borne by the candidates.
Online Mode (SBI Collect): Candidates shall access the payment link via HAL website career page, choose GOVT/PSU/COURTS, filter by State Odisha, select HINDUSTAN AERONAUTICS LTD as payee, choose payment category “EMD SD EMPLOYEES DEPOSIT GUEST HOUSE HOSPITAL”, fill in required details including Advertisement No. KPT/IHC/SRD/2025-01 as tender/ reference, and pay Rs.500/- using Net Banking / Card / UPI etc., noting down the SBI Collect Reference Number and saving the transaction details.

Selection Process
Eligible candidates will be short-listed based on initial screening, relevance of experience and other credentials possessed, and only shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interview.
Candidates are required to meet the stipulated criteria with respect to qualification and Post Professional Qualification Experience (PPQE) as an Executive or in the capacity of an Executive, and must produce requisite documents during document verification prior to interview.
Candidates will be shortlisted and called for interview in the ratio of 1:10 (maximum) as per company rules; if candidates fulfilling minimum eligibility criteria exceed the 1:10 ratio, those with more relevant experience will be considered first.
In case of tie in relevant experience, candidates who secured more marks in the qualifying examination will be considered first; if marks are also the same, the elder candidate in age will be considered first.
The selection process, including qualifying marks, will be governed by the extant Recruitment Rules (Recruitment Manual) of the company as amended from time to time.
Date, time and venue of the interview will be intimated only to shortlisted candidates via email and the list of shortlisted candidates will also be hosted on HAL website.
The suitability of shortlisted candidates will be assessed by a Selection Committee through interview on parameters such as knowledge of the job, general knowledge particularly in spheres allied/connected with the post, personality, educational qualifications and PPQE.
Merely meeting the qualification and/or PPQE requirements does not entitle candidates to be shortlisted for interview.

Candidates possessing qualifications acquired through Correspondence/Distance Education/Part Time/E-learning will not be considered and are not eligible to apply.
Candidates must submit original documents supporting percentage conversion from CGPA/OGPA/letter grade to percentage at the time of interview, if applicable.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen categories must submit valid certificates in prescribed format issued by Competent Authority at the time of interview/document verification.
For OBC (NCL) reservation benefits, candidates must belong to Non-Creamy Layer, caste/community name must appear in Central List of OBC, and OBC (NCL) certificate must be in prescribed format and not older than six months as on 31-01-2026.
Candidates employed in Central/State Government Departments, PSUs, Autonomous Organizations, Quasi Government Organizations, Armed Forces or Para-Military Forces must produce No Objection Certificate (NOC) or applicable document at the time of document verification; failure to do so will result in disqualification from interview and ineligibility for TA reimbursement.
Candidates found eligible to appear for interview will be reimbursed/paid train/bus fare from contact/mailing address to venue of interview by shortest route on production of proof of journey as per company rules.
Post Professional Qualification Experience (PPQE) in PSUs/Central/State Government/Private Organizations must be supported by experience certificates on official letterhead and will be subject to scrutiny regarding nature of experience, responsibilities and assignments.
Candidates who have left a PSU after availing VRS benefits, if selected, will be required to return the VRS compensation to the concerned PSU.
Present vacancies are identified to be filled by external candidates only through Direct Recruitment; applications of internal candidates will not be considered.
Name of candidate, Date of Birth and Father’s/Mother’s Name must match Matriculation/10th Standard certificate/mark sheet; where date of birth is not available, school leaving certificate indicating date of birth will be considered as per applicable state rules.
Applications not in conformity with advertisement requirements, incomplete applications, discrepancies in information, applications without required enclosures or those received after last date will not be considered and application fee will not be refunded.
Appointment of selected candidates is subject to satisfactory medical reports from HAL Industrial Health Centre, verification of caste and verification of character & antecedents from concerned authorities.
Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of one year from date of joining and may be posted at HAL Koraput Division or anywhere in India based on company requirements; candidates will not be allowed to apply for transfer for initial three years of service.
