Eligibility Criteria

• Essential qualification, Desirable qualifications, age and experience for the post of Superintendent are as per Recruitment Rules (2019) for Non-teaching staff in NITs notified vide No.F.35-5/2018-TS.III of MHRD’s letters dated 20.02.2019 and 04.04.2019.
• Any requisite experience gained after the minimum qualifying degree will only be taken into consideration.

Salary / Stipend

• The post of Superintendent carries Pay Level 6 [PB-2 & GP 4200/-] as per Seventh CPC [equivalent PB & GP in Sixth CPC].

Age Limit 

• Maximum age limit shall be as per Recruitment Rules.
• Age limit and other eligibility conditions for all the positions shall be determined on the last date of submission of online application, i.e., 30.01.2026.
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen applicants shall be applicable as per Government of India norms.
• SC/ST: 5 years age relaxation beyond the upper age limit.
• OBC (NCL): 3 years age relaxation beyond the upper age limit.
• PwD (UR): 10 years age relaxation beyond the upper age limit.
• PwD + OBC (NCL): 13 years age relaxation beyond the upper age limit.
• PwD + SC/ST: 15 years age relaxation beyond the upper age limit.
• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation up to the extent of service rendered in Defence forces (Army, Navy & Airforce) plus 3 years, subject to production of required certificate.
• Departmental candidates with three years continuous service in Central Government: 5 years age relaxation (additional to other applicable cases) for eligible Central Government / Autonomous / PSU / Centrally Funded Research Institute employees.
• Regular staff of NIT Tiruchirappalli appointed before 2012 are allowed to participate in the selection process irrespective of age and percentage of marks, as per No.F.35-5/2018-TS.III dated 20th February 2019 – point 4.b.(iii).

Application Fee

• UR, EWS, OBC (Non-creamy layer) & Ex-servicemen: Rs. 1,000/- (non-refundable); however, Rs. 500/- shall be refunded to Ex-servicemen candidates subject to appearing for the Screening Test.
• SC/ST/Women applicants: Rs. 500/- towards online application.
• PwBD candidates: Exempted from Application & Processing Fee.
• The application fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances (except the specified refund condition for Ex-servicemen).

Selection Process

• Screening of online applications may be done to restrict the number of applicants to be called for the selection process.
• The Institute may conduct a selection process comprising multiple stages of selection.
• Selection process may consist of Screening Test (only for the purpose of shortlisting of applicants), Skill Test (qualifying in nature) and Main Written Test.
• List of shortlisted applicants to be called for the selection process will be published on the Institute website and may also be intimated on registered email ID; no hard copy communication will be issued.
• Screening of applications will be done on the basis of requirements mentioned in the Recruitment Rules and as per conditions laid down by the duly constituted Screening Committee.
• Canvassing in any manner would entail disqualification of the candidature.
• Request for change in examination centres will not be entertained at any stage of the recruitment process.

General Information / Instructions

• Applicants must satisfy themselves regarding their eligibility for the post applied for and must be fulfilling the eligibility criteria as on the closing date of online applications; failing this, their application is liable for rejection at any stage.
• Applicants would be allowed to appear in the selection process based on information furnished in the application form; if found ineligible at any stage, candidature may be cancelled and, if selected, appointment may be cancelled.
• Hiding information or submitting false information may lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage and removal from service with possible penal action.
• The Institute will retain data of online applications received for non-shortlisted applicants only for three months after completion of recruitment process.
• Applications must be submitted through Online mode only; applications in any other form will not be accepted and will be summarily rejected.
• Incomplete applications or applications without relevant supporting enclosures may be rejected without correspondence.

• The Institute has the right to set higher norms than minimum prescribed in the advertisement and its decisions on recruitment shall be final and binding.
• Institute reserves the right to reject or accept candidature at any stage and to cancel/restrict/modify/alter the advertisement or recruitment process without notice.
• The Screening Test / Skill Test / Main Written Test will be conducted in the premises of NIT Tiruchirappalli only; no request for change of venue/date will be considered.
• Mere fulfilment of eligibility criteria does not guarantee being called for Screening Test / Main Written Test / Skill Test.
• Persons serving in Government / Semi-Government / Autonomous Bodies / Statutory Bodies / PSUs / PSBs must furnish a No Objection Certificate at the time of verification.
• No vigilance/disciplinary cases should be pending against applicants working in any Government / Semi-Government / Autonomous Organizations.
• Original documents with one set of self-attested copies must be produced at the time of certificate verification prior to skill test; without originals, candidature shall be rejected.
• Applicants are advised to visit the Institute website http://www.nitt.edu regularly for addendum/corrigendum and lists of shortlisted applicants; no separate communication will be issued.
• The Institute reserves the right not to fill the posts and to cancel the advertisement in whole or in part.
• Applicants should not have been convicted by any Court of Law.
• Applicants must be in sound health and, if selected, be prepared to undergo medical examination and produce fitness certificate from the District Medical Board.
• All appointments are subject to verification of academic qualifications, experience, conduct, community certificates, medical fitness and police verification.
• Photograph must be recent (not earlier than three months from the date of application) colour passport size with clear front view without cap, scarf or sunglasses; identical extra photograph should be kept for verification.
• Applicants must carry an original photo identity proof (Driving Licence, Voter ID Card, Aadhaar Card or Passport) to the examination centre.
• No educational qualification shall be considered unless supported by Degree/Provisional Degree Certificate along with mark sheets; grade card/mark sheet alone will not be treated as proof of degree.
• Selected candidates will be covered under the New Pension System as notified by Government of India, Ministry of Finance vide notification No.5/7/2003-ECB&PR dated 22nd December 2003.
• No TA/DA shall be paid to candidates attending Screening test / Certificate Verification / Skill Test / Main Written Test, except PwD candidates who may avail reimbursement as per norms.
• All correspondence will be made through e-mail only; schedule and details of selection process will be published on the Institute website.
• Any dispute with regard to the selection process will be subject to court/tribunal having jurisdiction over Tiruchirappalli.
• No correspondence will be entertained from not-shortlisted candidates.
• Applicants are warned not to furnish false particulars or suppress material information, or tamper with documents; such actions may lead to cancellation/debarment and other actions listed in the notification.

• Applicants should click on the online application link, read the instructions carefully and fill in the online application form with accurate information.
• If the online application is not successfully completed, the applicant is required to register again.
• After successful submission of online application, applicants must keep a copy of the finally submitted online application for production during the selection process.
• Incomplete applications or applications received through any mode other than online will not be accepted and will be summarily rejected.
• No request for change in any data entered will be entertained once the online application is submitted successfully.
• Applicants need to upload scanned copy of recent passport size colour photograph and signature while applying online.
• Applicants called for selection process must produce original certificates, a copy of the same photo and other relevant documents as mentioned in the online application form.
• The Institute will not be responsible if an applicant is unable to submit the online application within the last date due to system error or other reasons.
• Application without payment of application fee will be incomplete and summarily rejected.
