Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognised University or equivalent qualification
- Typewriting with minimum speed of 40 words per minute in computer
- Must have passed PGDCA Course in Computer
- Essential Qualifications: All three qualifications mentioned above are mandatory and must be possessed by closing date of application
- Physical Requirements for PwD Candidates:
- Work performed by seeing (SE)
- Work performed by hearing/speaking (H)
- Work performed by reading and writing (RW)
- Work performed by manipulating with fingers (MF)
- Functional Classification (PwD):
- OL - One leg affected (Right and/or Left)
- BL - Both legs affected but not arms
- HI - Partially deaf
- Character Requirements: Must be of good character, sound health and mind, good physique, free from contagious/communicable disease
- Additional Requirements: Must be citizen of India, not have more than one spouse if married, no criminal antecedent, not convicted for moral turpitude, not debarred by any recruitment authority
Salary/Stipend
- Pay Scale: Rs. 19,900 - 63,200/- per month
- Pay Level: Level 4 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017
- Additional Benefits: Usual Dearness Allowance and other allowances as sanctioned by Government of Odisha from time to time
- The salary structure follows Odisha Revised Service Pay (ORSP) Rules, 2017

Age Limit (as on 13-01-2026)
- Minimum Age: 21 years (must not be born later than 12-01-2005)
- Maximum Age: 42 years (must not be born earlier than 13-01-1984)
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST/SEBC/Women candidates: 5 years relaxation (upper age limit 47 years)
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD) with 40-50% disability: 10 years relaxation (upper age limit 52 years)
- PwD belonging to SC/ST/SEBC categories: Cumulative 15 years relaxation (10 years PwD + 5 years category = upper age limit 57 years)
- Ex-Servicemen: As per State Government norms and relevant Acts/Rules/Orders
- Candidates coming under more than one category eligible for only one age relaxation benefit, whichever is most beneficial
- Age limit prescribed cannot be relaxed except as provided above

- 150 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions
- Subjects: General English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude (Graduation level)
- Negative Marking: 0.5 (half) mark deducted for each wrong answer
- Qualifying Marks: 33% for SC/ST, 40% for others
- Court has discretion to fix cut-off mark based on vacancies and qualified candidates
- Stage 2 - Language Test (Qualifying):
- Total Marks: 100 marks
- Duration: 2 hours
- Essay in English (300 words): 30 marks
- Precis writing: 20 marks
- Translation from English to Odia: 20 marks
- Translation from Odia to English: 20 marks
- English Grammar: 10 marks
- Qualifying Marks: 33% for SC/ST, 45% for others
- Marks NOT counted in final merit list
- Stage 3 - Computer Application Test (Qualifying):
- Total Marks: 100 marks
- Theory (50 marks, 30 minutes): MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Access, Internet Operations, File uploading/downloading
- Skill Test (50 marks, 30 minutes): Practical demonstration
- Qualifying Marks: 50% or more
- Marks NOT counted in final merit list
- Stage 4 - Main Written Examination (Typewriting Test in English):
- Total Marks: 100 marks
- Duration: 10 minutes
- Type approximately 400 words from printed matter at 40 words per minute
- 0.25 marks deducted for each mistake (omission, substitution, addition, repetition)
- More than 20 mistakes leads to disqualification
- Final merit list based on marks obtained in this test
- If candidates score equal marks in Main Examination, older candidate placed higher in merit
- Chief Justice may reduce qualifying marks to meet exigency of insufficient candidates
- Admission to any stage is provisional - candidature liable for rejection if eligibility conditions not fulfilled at verification

- Position: Junior Grade Typist / Data Entry Operator (Group-C) in Court's Establishment

- Government servants eligible to apply if possessing requisite qualification and within age limit - must inform Head of Office and obtain/upload NOC
- SEBC Certificate more than 3 years old by closing date liable for rejection

- PwD candidates must have 40-50% permanent disability with valid Medical/Disability Certificate from competent authority
- Ex-Servicemen must submit Discharge Certificate from Commanding Officer and Affidavit of non-appointment in civil post after military service
- Addition, omission, alteration of letters/space in name considered as name change - must be supported by Gazette notification
- If multiple applications submitted, only latest application with higher Acknowledgement Number considered
