Important Notes on Vacancies:

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or other qualification having English/Odia as an Honours subject
  • Adequate knowledge in Computer Application
  • The degree must be from a recognized University
  • Either English or Odia must be studied as Honours subject

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be a citizen of India
  • Must have the requisite educational qualifications
  • Must be of good character
  • Must be of sound health and mind, good physique and free from any contagious or communicable disease
  • Should not have bodily infirmity of more than 50%
  • Must not have more than one spouse living, if married
  • Must not have any past criminal antecedent and/or record
  • Must not have been convicted by any Criminal Court for offence involving moral turpitude
  • Must not have been debarred by any Government, Court or Public Service Commission from appearing in any Recruitment Test

Salary/Stipend

Selection Process

  • Stage 1 - Preliminary Examination/Test: 150 marks, 2 hours duration
    • 150 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions
    • Subjects: General English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude (based on Graduation Course)
    • Negative Marking: 0.5 (half) mark deducted for each wrong answer

  • Stage 2 - Main Written Examination: 300 marks, 5 hours duration

  • Merit List Preparation: Based on total marks obtained in Main Written Examination + Viva-Voce Test
  • In case of tie: Priority given to higher marks in Main Written Examination, then to older candidate
  • Chief Justice may reduce qualifying marks at discretion due to non-availability of sufficient candidates

General Information/Instructions

  • Recruitment conducted as per "The High Court of Orissa (Appointment of Staff and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2019" as amended
  • Applications must be submitted only through ONLINE mode
  • Incomplete/Incorrect applications or forms submitted through other modes will be summarily rejected
  • Admission to any stage is provisional and subject to verification of eligibility
  • Candidates must submit online application well in advance without waiting for closing date
  • If multiple applications submitted, only latest application with higher Acknowledgement Number will be considered
  • All communication will be through High Court website - no separate correspondence will be made
  • No Admission Letter will be sent by post - candidates must download e-Admit Card from website

  • No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in examination
  • Failure to attend any stage of examination or document verification will result in rejection of candidature
  • Facility of Scribe will not be entertained at any stage
  • Candidates must keep at least 2 copies of passport size photograph for future use

  • Government servants must obtain NOC from controlling authority and upload with application
  • SEBC certificate more than 3 years old by closing date is liable for rejection

  • Ex-Servicemen must submit Discharge Certificate and Affidavit that they have not been appointed against any civil post after Military Service
  • Addition, omission, alteration in name from High School Certificate shall be considered as change in name and must be supported by gazette notification
  • Impersonation, submission of fabricated documents, false statements, or suppressing material information will invite criminal prosecution and disciplinary action
  • Candidates declared guilty of misconduct may be debarred from future examinations
