Eligibility Criteria

  • MBBS from Institution recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC).
  • Completion of compulsory internship with Internship Completion Certificate.
  • Registration under any State Medical Council / NMC.
  • MBBS (including Internship) not earlier than three years before the start date of Junior Residency i.e. 31 January 2026.
  • Candidates who have already done two terms of Junior Residency (Non-Academic) either at AIIMS or outside will not be considered; each term is of 6 months and counted as one term irrespective of duration of work.
  • Experience in Army Services, Central Health Services, Private Nursing Homes and Private Practice will be taken as equivalent to Junior Residency (Non-Academic) for counting terms.

Salary/Stipend

  • Pay Scale: Rs. 15,600–39,100 + Grade Pay Rs. 5,400 (6th CPC).
  • Level 10 of the Pay Matrix of the Seventh Pay Commission.
  • NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance) admissible for Medical Graduates as per rules.
  • No travelling or other allowances will be paid to the candidate for joining the post.

Age Limit

  • Maximum Age Limit for Junior Resident: Not exceeding 33 years as on the date of publishing this notification in Institute website.
  • No age relaxation available to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved vacancies.
  • Age relaxation for PwD (OPH) candidates: 10 years beyond the upper age limit.
  • Age relaxation to other categories will be applicable as per DoPT instructions; regulated as per Government of India rules.

Application Fee

  • Application Fees: Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) for Unreserved/OBC/EWS candidates.
  • Payment Mode: Demand Draft in favour of “AIIMS KALYANI INTERNAL RESOURCES ACCOUNT” payable at Kalyani.
  • No fees for SC/ST candidates.
  • Application fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
  • Applications without the prescribed fee will not be considered and will be summarily rejected.

Selection Process

  • Mode of selection is Walk-in Interview only; selection based on performance in walk-in interview.
  • Candidates working in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSU must submit No Objection Certificate from employer; in-service candidates will not be permitted for interview without NOC.
  • Interview will be conducted after verifying application and requisite documents of candidates at reporting time.
  • All candidates completing eligibility criteria by 31 January 2026 are eligible.
  • Depending on requirement, authorities may increase or decrease number of seats/posts; decision of authorities shall be final.

General Information/Instructions

  • The appointment is purely on tenure basis and initially for a period of 6 months only; it does not vest any right to claim regular appointment, permanent absorption or continued contractual appointment.
  • The tenure engagement will automatically expire on completion of 6 months and can be terminated at any time by the Institute; employee may resign with one month notice or salary in lieu thereof.
  • This appointment is whole time; private practice of any kind is prohibited and appointees may be required to work in shifts, including Trauma & Emergency Medicine, or any other area as required.
  • Appointees must conform to rules of discipline and conduct applicable to Institute employees; they should not have been convicted by any Court of Law; canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
  • If any declaration or information is found false or material information is willfully suppressed, the candidate will be liable to removal from service and further action as deemed fit by appointing authority.
  • Executive Director, AIIMS Kalyani reserves the right to cancel the advertisement at any time without prior notice or to fill fewer posts than advertised depending upon institutional requirements.
  • Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/OPH/EWS candidates will be as per rules; valid category certificates issued by competent authority, valid for Central Government jobs and issued before the date of interview, are mandatory.
  • In case suitable EWS candidates are not found, posts will not be carried forward as backlog; UR candidates may be considered provisionally against EWS posts subject to conditions.
  • Accepted/rejected application status and all updates will be posted on the Institute website; AIIMS Kalyani will not be responsible for non-receipt of email communication.
  • It is mandatory to provide a proper email ID and mobile number in the application form and to visit the Institute website regularly for updates.
