- Qualification for Medical Officer, Blood Service: MBBS degree from institution, recognized by MCI / National Medical Commission (NMC). Must have completed compulsory rotator internship. Registered under West Bengal Medical Council. Weightage will be given for higher Qualification.
- Qualification for Obstetricians & Gynecologists, FRU: MBBS degree from an MCI recognized institute. Post- Graduate degree / DNB / Diploma in Gynaecology & Obstetrics. Must be registered under West Bengal Medical Council
- Qualification for Paediatrician, FRU: MBBS degree from an MCI recognized institute. Post- Graduate degree / DNB / Diploma in Paediatric Medicine. Must be registered under West Bengal Medical Council
- Qualification for Specialist (Medicine) for Poly Clinic under XV FC: MBBS degree from an MCI recognized institute. Post-Graduate degree / DNB in Medicine. Must be registered under West Bengal Medical Council

Salary/ Stipend
- Medical Officer, Blood Service: Rs. 60,000/-
- Obstetricians & Gynecologists, FRU: Rs. 70,000/- for MBBS with PG Degree. Rs. 65,000/- for MBBS with PG Diploma
- Paediatrician, FRU: Rs. 70,000/- for MBBS with PG Degree. Rs. 65,000/- for MBBS with PG Diploma
- Specialist (Medicine) for Poly Clinic under XV FC: 3,000/- per day (at least 3 hours per day) for thrice a week
- Specialist (Paediatrics) for Poly Clinic under XV FC: 3,000/- per day (at least 3 hours per day) for thrice a week
- Specialist (G&O) for Poly Clinic under XV FC: 3,000/- per day (at least 3 hours per day) for thrice a week
- Specialist (Ophthalmologist) for Poly Clinic under XV FC: 3,000/- per day (at least 3 hours per day) for twice a week
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
- Not more than 67 years as on 01.01.2026 for Medical Officer, Blood Service
- Not exceeding 67 years as on 01.01.2026 for all other posts

Selection Process
- For Medical Officer: MBBS (80 marks, proportionate), PG Degree (10), PG Diploma (5), Experience (10, @2 marks per completed year up to 10)
- For Specialists (Obstetricians & Gynecologists, Paediatrician, Medicine, Ophthalmologist): MBBS (80 marks, proportionate), PG Degree (10), PG Diploma (5), Experience (10, @2 marks per completed year up to 10)
- FMG Examination of Foreign MBBS applicants is to be considered as equivalent to the score of final MBBS examination and merit list should be prepared accordingly
General Information/ Instructions
- The candidates must submit their application through online only. Application forms not properly filled in or incomplete are liable to be cancelled.
- Only online application will be accepted available in the departmental website www.wbhealth.gov.in/online recruitment.
- Candidate has to upload their recent colour photograph and signature both in ".jpeg" format and size between 20-30 kb each.
- The candidates must be permanent resident of West Bengal.
- The essential criterion mentioned above is mandatory.
- One candidate can apply for multiple posts if he/she is eligible, but in case multiple applications for same post are found, only the last application will be accepted.
- Hard copy / print out copy of the online registration form (printed within the last date of online application), should be retained by all applicants for document verification purpose. Employer is not liable to give any information regarding the online registration number in future. Without online registration form, no candidates will be entertained for original testimonials verification by the authority. No need to send any hard copy / print out copy of the online registration form along with the relevant documents by post or by hand.
- The above posts are purely contractual basis and will be valid up to 31.03.2026 which may be renewed on the basis of satisfactory performance.
- Percentage of marks will be calculated on the basis of 2 decimal points.
- An application fees of Rs. 100.00 for General applicant and Rs. 50.00 for reserved categories to be submitted during online application. The amount is not-refundable
- The candidate if found ineligible at any stage of recruitment process will not be called for the subsequent stages of the selection process.
- Upper age relaxation will be given as per Government norms.
- In case of experience certificate, the duration of experience must be clearly mentioned. Experience certificate must consist the name of the post, Employee's name, date of joining and period of service, otherwise the experience certificates will be treated as invalid. Engagement letter or any other will not be treated as experience certificate.
- Failure to submit / mismatch of documents / providing false information of any requisite documents is liable to cancellation of candidature.
- The Competent authorities may cancel the recruitment process at any stage of the selection process.
- Decision of the selection committee is final.
- The applicant at the end of his / her application shall certify that the information provided by him/her is correct and any discrepancies found in future will not only be the cause of the rejection of candidature but also shall attract legal provision.
- No TA /DA will be paid to the candidates for the document verification, computer test, written test, interview etc.
