Professor – Essential Eligibility
- Option (a): Eminent scholar with Ph.D. in concerned/allied/relevant discipline, at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals and a research score of 120 as per prescribed criteria, plus minimum 10 years of teaching experience in University/College as Assistant/Associate/Professor or equivalent research experience with successful Ph.D. guidance.
- Option (b): Outstanding professional with Ph.D. in relevant/allied/applied discipline from academic institutions/industry, with significant contribution to knowledge and at least 10 years of experience.
Associate Professor – Essential Eligibility
- Good academic record with Ph.D. in concerned/relevant/allied disciplines.
- Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in relevant subject.
- Minimum 8 years of teaching and/or research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor level.
- At least 7 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals and a research score of 75 as per criteria.
Assistant Professor – Essential Eligibility
- Option (a): Master’s Degree with 55% marks in concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University, and must have cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or equivalent accredited test such as SLET/SET.
- Option (b): Ph.D. degree from a foreign University/Institution with ranking among top 500 in World University Rankings (QS/THE/ARWU) in any year.

Environmental Science
- Professor & Associate Professor: M.Sc. in Environmental Science/Botany/Zoology/Earth Science/Geology/Geography with specialization in ecology, environmental biology, toxicology, microbiology or related fields.

Library and Information Science

Marks Relaxation
- 5% relaxation of marks at Graduate and Master’s level for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Differently-abled candidates.
- 5% relaxation from 55% to 50% at Master’s level for Ph.D. holders who obtained their degree before 19 September 1991.
- No relaxation in qualifying marks for Differently-abled candidates in the discipline of Physical Education.
Age Limit (Assistant Professor)
- Upper age limit: 40 years as on 01 January 2026.
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation (maximum 45 years).
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 3 years relaxation (maximum 43 years).
- Differently-abled candidates (except Physical Education): 10 years relaxation (maximum 50 years).
NET / SLET / SET Exemption
- Candidates with Ph.D. in relevant subject as per UGC Regulations 2009 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET for Assistant Professor posts.
- Candidates registered for Ph.D. before 11 July 2009 may be exempted if they satisfy conditions such as regular Ph.D. registration, external evaluation, open viva-voce, published work and conference presentations as per UGC norms.
