Sport/Game-wise Tentative Vacancy Distribution:

Note: If suitable candidates not available in some preferred sports/games, Department reserves right to not consider such games and allot vacancies to other preferred games mentioned in the list or other sports mentioned in DoPT OM dated 04.03.2024.

Eligibility Criteria for Income Tax Gujarat Sports Quota 2025

Educational Qualification (as on 01.01.2026):

For Tax Assistant:

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university or equivalent, AND
• Data entry speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour
• Note: Candidates will be required to qualify Data Entry Skill Test @8000 key depressions per hour as per recruitment rules

For Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS):

• Matriculation or equivalent pass from a recognized Board/Council

Sports Eligibility Criteria (Any One):

Category 1:

• Sportspersons who have represented State or Country in National or International competition, OR
• Medal winners in Junior National Championships, OR
• Medal winners in Khelo India Youth Games (age category above 18 years), OR
• Medal winners in Khelo India Winter Games, OR
• Medal winners in Khelo India Para Games, OR
• Medal winners in Khelo India University Games, OR
• Medal winners in School Games Federation of India (SGFI)

Category 2:

• Sportspersons who have represented their University in Inter-University Tournaments conducted by Inter-University Sports Boards

Category 3:

• Sportspersons who have represented State School Teams in National Sports/Games for Schools conducted by All India School Games Federation

Important Note: Candidates must be eligible in all respects (age, educational qualifications, experience) as per Recruitment Rules, except to the extent of relaxations permitted for sports quota.

Age Limit for Income Tax Gujarat Sports Quota 2025 (as on 01.01.2026)

For Tax Assistant:

• Age Range: 18 to 27 years
• Born Between: Not before 02.01.1999 and not later than 01.01.2008

For Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS):

• Age Range: 18 to 25 years
• Born Between: Not before 02.01.2001 and not later than 01.01.2008

Age Relaxation:

Important: Candidates seeking relaxation must ensure they are entitled to such relaxation as per eligibility prescribed on 01.01.2026.

Order of Preference for Selection (as per DoPT OM dated 04.05.1995 & 04.03.2024)

Sportspersons will be selected based on the following order of preference:

1st Preference:

• Candidates who have represented the country in International Competition with clearance of Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports

2nd Preference:

• Represented State/UT in Senior or Junior National Championships organized by National Sports Federations (recognized by Dept. of Sports) OR National Games organized by Indian Olympics Association
• Must have won medals or positions up to 3rd place
• Between Senior and Junior participants, Senior National Championship medal winners get preference

3rd Preference:

• Represented University in Inter-University competition conducted by Association of Indian Universities/Inter University Sports Board OR Khelo India University Games
• Must have won medals or positions up to 3rd place in finals

4th Preference:

• Represented State/UT in Khelo India Youth Games (age category above 18 years) OR Khelo India Winter Games OR Khelo India Para Games
• Must have won medals or positions up to 3rd place in finals

5th Preference:

• Represented State Schools in National sports/games for Schools conducted by All-India School Games Federation
• Must have won medals or positions up to 3rd place

6th Preference:

• Represented State/UT/University/State Schools Teams at levels mentioned in categories (2) to (5) but could not win medal/position
• Same order of preference applies

Tie-Breaking Rules:

• Candidates who secured higher position given preference
• Candidates who won more than one medal may be given preference
• Individual and team events given same preference
• No preference for winning more than one medal/position

Required Sports Achievement Certificates

Only certificates from the following authorities will be accepted as evidence (as per DoPT OM F. No. 14034/01/2013-Estt(D) dated 03.10.2013):

Important Notes:

• Sports certificates must be in specified forms (Form 1 to Form 5) as per DoPT OM
• Certificates must be certified by a Gazetted Officer
• Forms available at: DoPT Circular
• Certificates in any other form or from non-competent authorities will be ignored and applications rejected
• Candidate who cannot upload at least one certificate from competent authority need not apply

Stage 1: Scrutiny of Applications

• All applications received within prescribed time will be scrutinized
• Scrutiny based on eligibility criteria/qualification/instructions as per advertisement
• Scrutiny as per eligibility fixed by Sports Recruitment Committee
• Candidates will be shortlisted as per order of preference (DoPT guidelines)

Stage 2: Written Examination

• Shortlisted candidates required to appear in written examination
• Success in written exam does NOT confer right to appointment
• Appointment subject to Department's satisfaction after necessary enquiry

Stage 3: Data Entry Skill Test (For Tax Assistant only)

• Candidates must qualify Data Entry Skill Test
• Requirement: 8,000 key depressions per hour
• As per relevant recruitment rules

Stage 4: Document Verification

• Selected candidates required to produce original certificates
• All documents will be verified

Stage 5: Medical Examination

• Medical fitness ascertained by O/o Pr. CCIT, Gujarat Region before formal appointment
• Candidates must be clear in all Doping tests by WADA/NADA or relevant authorities
• No ongoing investigation regarding doping or unfair means required
• Declaration to this effect mandatory

Stage 6: Police Verification

• Appointment subject to clearance from Police authorities
• Verification of current place of residence

Final Appointment

• Based on: Eligibility, Order of Preference, Written Exam, Skill Test (for Tax Assistant), Document Verification, Medical Fitness, Police Clearance
• Probation period: 2 years
• Posting: Anywhere in Gujarat region

• Download certificate formats (Form 1 to Form 5) from DoPT OM link provided

Step 2: Fill Online Application Form

• Click on "Apply Online" link (available from 31.01.2026 to 21.02.2026)
• Fill all required details:
  • Personal Information (Name, Father's Name, DOB, Gender, Category, Contact details)
  • Educational Qualifications (with percentage and year)
  • Post Applied For: Indicate preference (1st preference: Tax Assistant/MTS, 2nd preference if applying for both)
  • Sports/Game details (Sport name, Level of competition, Achievement, Certificate details)
  • Employment details (if already employed - NOC required)

Important Terms & Conditions

Service Conditions for Selected Candidates:

• Probation: 2 years or as per Government of India instructions
• Representation Requirement: Must represent Income Tax Department, Gujarat region in tournaments/meets for at least 10 years from joining
• Undertaking Required: Not to apply for:
  • Deputation to other departments/regions
  • Inter-charge transfer on loan basis
  • Any other inter-charge transfer arrangement
  • Minimum period: 10 years
• Leave Management: Strictly subject to DOPT O.M No. 6/1/85-Estt.(Pay-I) dated 16.07.1985
• Posting: Liable for posting anywhere in Gujarat region
• Declaration Required: To work at any place under Pr. CCIT, Gujarat Region (during pre-appointment process)

Anti-Doping Compliance:

• Must be clear in all doping tests done by WADA/NADA or relevant authorities
• No ongoing investigation regarding doping or unfair means
• Mandatory declaration required

Medical Fitness:

• Medical examination by O/o Pr. CCIT, Gujarat before appointment
• Must meet prescribed medical standards

Background Verification:

• Appointment subject to police clearance
• Verification from current place of residence

General Warnings:

• Any form of canvassing renders candidature liable for summary rejection at any stage
