Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
- GDMO (General Duty Medical Officer): MBBS degree from a recognized institute
- Specialist (Surgery): MBBS with PG Diploma/Degree in Surgery/General Surgery
- Specialist (Paediatrics): MBBS with PG Diploma/Degree in Paediatrics
- Specialist (G&O): MBBS with PG Diploma/Degree in Gynaecology & Obstetrics
- All qualifications must be from institutes recognized by State Government/Central Government
- Essential qualifications as on date of issue of advertisement (18/12/2025)
Essential Requirements
- Doctors must be registered with Medical Council of India (MCI) or National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC)
- Must have valid practitioner's license and be enrolled in the State Register or National Register
- Must be an Indian national
- Valid Registration Certificate issued by State/Indian Medical Council/National Medical Commission is mandatory
- For GDMOs: Internship Completion Certificate required
- For Specialists: PG Degree/Diploma certificates required
Who Cannot Apply
- Ex-employees of SAIL who have been separated through Voluntary Retirement
- Non-SAIL ex-employees who have been separated through Voluntary Retirement
- Ex-employee doctors must provide self-certificate declaring they have not opted for Voluntary Retirement
Experience
- Relevant work experience will be given preference during selection
- Experience certificates showing relevant post-qualification experience from employer required
- In case of retired employees, service certificate issued by parent organization should be provided
Salary/Stipend
- GDMO (MBBS): Rs. 90,000/- per month (consolidated)
- Specialist with PG Diploma: Rs. 1,20,000/- per month (consolidated)
- Specialist with PG Degree: Rs. 1,60,000/- per month (consolidated)
- Working Hours: Remuneration applicable for minimum 8 hours a day for 6 days a week or 48 hours a week
- Pro-rata Basis: If engagement is for less than 8 hours per day/48 hours a week, rates may be pro-rated accordingly
- Communication Facility: Post-paid SIM under CUG with monthly ceiling - MBBS: Rs. 350/-, PG Diploma: Rs. 500/-, PG Degree: Rs. 500/-
- Housing: Company accommodation (2 BHK or equivalent) available on payment basis subject to availability (No HRA admissible)
- Medical Benefits: Available for self and spouse only at DSP hospital without referrals during engagement period
- Leave: 10 days leave in a year subject to prior approval

Selection Process
- Step 1: Document Verification - Candidates found eligible by Verification Committee will be allowed to appear in Interview
- Step 2: Walk-in Interview - Personal interview will be conducted by Interview/Selection Board constituted by DSP
- Step 3: Merit Panel Formation - Discipline-wise and caste-category wise panel will be formed in order of merit (ratio 1:1 - no. of posts advertised : no. of candidates in panel)
- Preference: Consultants having relevant work experience shall be given preference
- Panel Validity: Panel will be valid for period of six months from date of approval
- Final Decision: Decision of Interview/Selection Board constituted by DSP shall be final and binding
- No other mode: Walk-in interview is the only mode - no other application mode will be accepted
General Information/Instructions
- Nature of Engagement: Purely temporary and shall not create any right for regular appointment
- Tenure: Initial tenure of 1 year, extendable by 1 year at company's discretion. Maximum period: 3 years. No bar on re-engagement
- Performance Review: Performance will be reviewed and tenure extended subject to satisfactory performance
