Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

• Applications are invited from eligible Indian Nationals for an Apprenticeship Training Program for a period of Twelve (12) months at IIT Delhi under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
• The essential qualification for Administration, Accounts, IIT Hospital etc. is Graduate in Arts, Commerce, Science etc./Secretarial Practice/Modern Office Management/Pharmacy/Physiotherapy.
• The essential qualification for Estate & Works (including Civil, Electrical, Horticulture etc.) is Graduate/Diploma in Engineering/Technology.
• The essential qualification for Hostels / Guest Houses is Graduate/Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology.
• The gap between the last date of application and the passing date of the qualifying degree/diploma examination should not be more than two years.
• Applicants who have already registered/undergone/undergoing apprenticeship training under Apprenticeship Act elsewhere are not eligible to apply.
• Applicants must be registered in the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) 2.0 Portal and apply online through the same portal against the advertisement.

Salary / Stipend

• Consolidated stipend per month is Rs. 15,000/- for Degree holders.
• Consolidated stipend per month is Rs. 12,000/- for Diploma holders.
• No other payment shall be made to Apprentices.

Age Limit

• The minimum age of the applicant should be 18 years.
• The maximum age of the applicant should not be beyond 25 years.
• Relaxation in the upper age limit shall be applicable as per the Govt. of India guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD etc.

Selection Process

• The criteria of provisionally shortlisting and engagement will be based solely on merit, i.e., the percentage of the marks obtained in the qualifying degree/diploma examination as claimed by the applicant in the application form along with mandatory eligibility criteria.
• In case of tie in percentage marks of degree/diploma of two or more applicants, the applicant senior in age shall be given preference.
• In case of tie even after applying the age criterion, it shall be decided by the competent authority.
• Applicant eligibility will be assessed based on the information provided in the online application form.
• If at any stage it is found that applicants have furnished false or wrong information, their candidature/apprenticeship will be rejected/cancelled/terminated.

General Information / Instructions

• The cut-off date for age, qualification etc. shall be 19 January 2026.
• Relaxation in the upper age limit shall be applicable as per the Govt. of India guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD etc.
• Reservation provisions in force shall be applicable while hiring apprentices.
• SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS applicants should upload the necessary certificates while filling the online application form and furnish them in original during document verification in the prescribed formats annexed to the advertisement.
• Applicants claiming to belong to SC/ST/OBC must ensure their community is included in the Central list of SC/ST/OBCs notified by the Government of India for the concerned State.
• OBC applicants claiming reservation under OBC category must produce an OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate issued in Financial Year 2025-2026 in the prescribed format.
• EWS applicants claiming reservation under EWS category must possess a valid Income & Asset certificate for Financial Year 2025-2026 issued on the basis of income for Financial Year 2024-2025.
• No request for appointment to any post in the Institute shall be entertained on completion of apprenticeship training, and apprentices shall have no right to claim any employment at IIT Delhi based on apprenticeship.
• IIT Delhi shall have no liability to provide any job to the apprentices.
• The duration of apprenticeship training will be Twelve (12) months from the date of joining and the contract will be terminated automatically after completion of the apprenticeship period.
• No accommodation and travel allowance/facility will be provided for the apprentices at IIT Delhi.
• Engagement/contract will be governed by relevant rules and regulations of the Institute as amended from time to time.
• All correspondence will be communicated through e-mail only, and applicants must provide a correct email address and regularly check their email and the Institute website for updates.
• Any resultant dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts situated in Delhi only.
• IIT Delhi reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason, amend clauses, increase or decrease the number of vacancies, postpone or cancel the engagement process without assigning any reason.
• The selected apprentice will be liable to serve on any of the campuses of IIT Delhi.

How to Apply

• The applicants are required to apply online only through NATS 2.0 portal from 29 December 2025 to 19 January 2026, both dates inclusive.
• For submission of application through online mode (NATS 2.0 portal), applicants must visit https://nats.education.gov.in/student_type.php.
• Applicants registered in the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) 2.0 Portal and applying online through NATS 2.0 portal against the advertisement shall be considered for the engagement process; no other means/mode of application shall be accepted.
• The applicant should have an active Aadhaar seeded bank account enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer as per Government of India norms, and the same bank details should be submitted in the online application.
• The name and date of birth of the applicant should be the same as in the Matriculation (10th Class) Certificate, Aadhaar Card and Bank Account.
• For document verification, applicants shall be asked to visit the Institute on a specific date with original documents and one set of self-attested photocopies as specified in the advertisement.
• No request for change of date/time/venue of document verification shall be considered.
• It is mandatory to appear in person in document verification on the scheduled date/time/venue; failing which the candidature shall be rejected.
