Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications
- Essential Educational Qualification: Must possess qualification of MBBS from the university recognized by Medical Council of India
- The candidate must have a valid registration certificate under the Odisha Medical Registration Rule 1965
- The candidate must be a citizen of India
Essential Qualifications
- MBBS degree from a university recognized by Medical Council of India is mandatory
- Valid registration certificate under the Odisha Medical Registration Rule 1965 is compulsory
- All educational qualifications from HSC/10th onwards must be supported by original certificates for verification
- Medical registration certificate must be produced at the time of personal interview
Experience
- Candidate should have worked at least 15 years in a Government Hospital/Corporate hospital of SPSU/CPSU or equivalent hospital
- The hospital should have multiple specialization with minimum 20 beds facility
- The hospital must have proper diagnostic center and pharmacy
- Details of work experience shall be clearly mentioned and supported by relevant documentary evidence
- Retired doctors must furnish Last Pay Certificate (LPC) from the last Hospital/Organisation from which they have been retired
- Experience certificates must be produced in original at the time of personal interview for verification
Desirable
- Experience in hospital administration and management would be preferred
- Knowledge of standard treatment protocols and hospital guidelines is desirable
- Experience in conducting medical boards, health camps and awareness activities would be an added advantage
Salary/Stipend
- For Retired Government Doctors: Fixed consolidated remuneration equal to "Pay minus Pension"
- For Others: Consolidated remuneration of Rs. 80,000/- (Rupees Eighty Thousand only) per month
- Annual Increment: 3% annual increment applicable for non-retired doctors
- The selected candidate shall not be entitled for any other allowance or special pay over and above the consolidated remuneration
- Mobile SIM Facility: Mobile SIM facility will be provided
- Travelling Allowance: During the period of contractual engagement, candidate will be entitled to get Travelling Allowance for approved tours in line with the Corporation's prevailing norms
- No other benefits, allowances or special pay will be provided apart from the consolidated remuneration mentioned above
Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)
- Maximum Age: 67 years as on 01/01/2026
- Age Relaxation: Age relaxation may be considered for deserving candidates at the discretion of the management

Selection Process
- Selection will be made through personal interview by a Selection Committee
- Candidates are required to produce original certificates towards proof of age, experience, qualification and marks from HSC/10th onwards for the purpose of verification prior to personal interview
- Medical registration certificate must be produced in original at the time of interview
- Retired doctors must furnish Last Pay Certificate (LPC) from the last Hospital/Organisation from which they have been retired
- Filling-up of vacancies is solely at the discretion of the Management based on suitability of candidates
- No claim will arise for appointment, if vacancies are not filled due to un-suitability/insufficient number of candidates
- Final selection of the candidates shall be subject to medical fitness
- Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to having sound health and being physically and mentally fit in the Pre-Employment Medical Examination to be conducted as per the norms and standards of Medical Fitness
General Information/Instructions
- Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (OPTCL) is one of the largest State owned Power Utilities in the country, engaged in the business of Transmission of electricity in the State
- The Corporation operates a well-equipped dispensary, known as 'Power Hospital' located at OPTCL Colony, Bhoinagar, Bhubaneswar
- The Power Hospital provides health care services to the employees of OPTCL as well as employees of OHPC, GRIDCO and the community in and around the OPTCL colony including the underprivileged at a very affordable cost
- The candidate should be free from any vigilance/criminal cases and must have a good character
- Candidates working in State/Central Government/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies of Government shall produce a "No Objection Certificate (NOC)" at the time of Personal Interview
- While applying for the above post, the applicant shall ensure that she/he fulfills the eligibility and other norms as mentioned, as on the specified dates and the particulars furnished are correct in all respects

Job Description & Responsibilities
- Medical Officer shall be in charge of hospital administration and will be responsible for day to day functioning of the "Power Hospital" along with the duty of consultation/treatment of patients
- Ensure timely procurement of medicines and other clinical items through coordination with the HR Department of OPTCL
- Monitor procurement of new equipment for Power Hospital and make recommendations as and when required to augment healthcare facilities
- Assignment and coordination of duties of hospital staff, supervision of nursing and paramedical staff during clinical duties, maintenance of discipline and duty rosters
- Ensuring adherence to standard treatment protocols and hospital guidelines
- Convene the Medical Board as and when required for comprehensive medical examination, disability assessment and verification for other service related benefits or any other medical opinion sought for by the organization
- Responsible to conduct health camps and awareness activities in consultation with HR Department
- Issue medical certificates, fitness reports as and when required
- Ensure proper up keeping and maintenance of existing facilities in "Power Hospital"
- Any other assignment entrusted from time to time
Tenure, Terms & Conditions
- Initial Contract Period: The tenure of contract is initially for a period of 1 year, which is extendable on yearly basis up to 3 years based on performance and requirement of the organisation
- Leave Entitlement: 10 days leave in a calendar year. In case of engagement during mid of the calendar year, leave will be reduced proportionately
- Termination by Corporation: The engagement can be terminated at any time by the Corporation giving one month notice, if performance found to be unsatisfactory
- In cases of any misconduct including but not limited to misappropriation, negligence or causing loss to the Corporation, engagement can be terminated without any prior notice
- Resignation by Medical Officer: Medical Officer shall give one month notice/payment in lieu of notice period if intending to resign from the services of corporation
- This is a full time contractual appointment, hence the appointee shall not accept any other paid appointment or otherwise
- Mobile SIM facility will be provided apart from salary
