Eligibility Criteria
For Medical Candidates (Senior Residents)
- Essential Qualifications:
- A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in the Part II of the third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in Section 13 (3) of the Act)
- Must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council
- A postgraduate degree i.e., MD/MS/DNB/MDS as per MCI rule in the specialty concerned from a recognized University/ Institute
For Non-Medical Candidates
Applications are invited in the departments of Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Pathology and Pharmacology etc.
- Essential Qualifications:
- Master's degree (regular course - UGC recognized / equivalent) viz. M.Sc. in the concerned discipline / subject
- Ph.D. in the concerned discipline/ subject of an Indian University/ Institute or its equivalent Ph.D. degree from a foreign University recognized by the University Grants Commission
Salary/Stipend
- Pay Scale: Pay Level – 11 of the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC
- Entry Pay: Rs. 67,700/- Per Month
- Additional Benefits: Plus usual allowances
- NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance): Admissible under rules (applicable for Medical Candidates only)

Selection Process
- Initial Screening: Based on bio-data, the Search cum Selection Committee may short-list candidates for interview
- Written Examination: In case of large number of applicants, candidates may be asked to appear in a written examination
- Short-listing Criteria: Short-listing will be done on the basis of educational qualification, experience etc. and/or as per the short-listing criteria as may be decided by the Competent Authority
- Screening Test: In case large number of applications received for the Senior Resident post, a Screening Test may be conducted for short-listing of candidates. The Scheme and the method of Screening Test (Computer Based Test or Offline Test) shall be notified in due course on the website of AIIMS, Bathinda
- Interview: Candidates called for interview will have to produce all relevant original documents in proof of details furnished in their application form
- Final Selection: Selection will be made on the basis of interview/ written examination
- Decision Authority: The decision of Executive Director, AIIMS, Bathinda in this regard will be final and binding
General Information/Instructions
Reservation Criteria
For PwBD (Person with Benchmark Disability) Candidates:
- Reservation to candidates belonging to Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) category is applicable by Govt. of India Policy, which will be provided on Horizontal basis to PwBD candidates in their respective categories
- The disability certificate should be issued by a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board of the State or Central Govt. Hospitals / Institutions and countersigned by Medical Superintendent /CMO / Head of Hospital / Institution
- Only such persons would be eligible for reservation under PwBD quota who suffer from not less than 40% of physical disability
- Person who wants to avail the benefit of reservation would have to submit a Disability Certificate as issued by a Competent Authority in prescribed format
For OBC Candidates:
- Candidates applying under OBC category must produce the valid caste certificate in the format provided by the DoP&T vide O.M. No. 36036/2/2013-Estt. (Res.) dated 30.05.2014 and further clarification issued by DoP&T OM No. 36036/2/2013-Estt(Res-I) dated 31.03.2016
- The certificate must mention the non-creamy layer status of the applicant
- The OBC applicants who belong to the 'Non-Creamy Layer' and whose caste appears in the Central List of the OBCs shall be eligible
- The validity of the non-creamy layer certificate shall be issued for the financial year 2025-2026 (which is the year of advertisement), issued from 1st April 2025 to 07th January 2026
For EWS Candidates:
- Application under EWS category will be considered subject to submission of Income and Assets certificate on a prescribed format issued by the competent authority
- A EWS certificate issued in prescribed format for employment in Central Government on the basis on income of financial year 2024-2025, issued from 1st April 2025 to 07th January 2026
Important Terms & Conditions
- Tenure: The appointment is initially for one year and extendable up to maximum 03 (Three) years upon the recommendation of Head of the Department / discretion of the competent authority
- Joining Period: Candidates have to join within one month from the date of issue of appointment letter. No extension will be allowed in any circumstances
- Termination: The appointment can be terminated at any time by the Institute by giving one month notice or salary in lieu thereof
- Full-time Position: This appointment is of full time and private practice of any kind is prohibited
- Work Requirements: He/she will have to work in shifts and can be posted at any place in the Institute
- Leave: The leave entitlement of the appointee shall be governed by the Institute's leave rules as amended from time to time
- No Benefits: The appointee shall not be entitled to any benefit like Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance Treatment, Seniority, Promotion etc., or any other benefits available to Government Servants appointed on regular basis
- NOC/Relieving Letter: If an appointee wishes to apply somewhere else or resign within the first 03 (Three) months of joining, then neither he/ she will be issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) nor he/ she will receive any Relieving Letter or Experience Certificate
- Experience Counting: The period of experience, wherever prescribed, shall be counted after obtaining the prescribed qualification
- Government Employees: The candidates who are in service in any Government Institutions are required to submit "No Objection Certificate" from the employer at the time of Interview
- Discipline: He/ she should conform to the rules of discipline and conduct as applicable to the Institute employees
- No Travelling Allowance: No travelling or other allowances will be paid to the candidates for interview and joining on selection
- Court Conviction: The candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law
- Canvassing: Canvassing in any form will lead to a disqualification
- Jurisdiction: All disputes will be subject to jurisdiction of Court of Law at Bathinda
Important Notes
- The candidates who applied earlier vide Advertisement No. AIIMS/BTI/RC/SR/2076 dated 18 October 2025 shall be considered, and they are not required to apply again
- The above vacancies are provisional and subject to variation. The Executive Director, AIIMS, Bathinda reserves the right to vary the vacancies including reserved vacancies as per the Govt. of India rules/circulars and requirements
- Inadequately filled/ incomplete application form will be summarily rejected and no enquiry or representation will be entertained in this regard
- Reservation will be as per Government of India Policy
- Candidates who fail to produce valid category certificate OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PWBD etc. during document verification or as and when required, the candidature will be cancelled
- The decision of the competent authority regarding selection of candidates will be final and no representation will be entertained in this regard
