Eligibility Criteria

- Experience: A person of ability, integrity and standing, and having special knowledge and professional experience of not less than 10 years in consumer affairs, law, public affairs, administration, economics, commerce, industry, finance, management, engineering, technology, public health or medicine
Salary/Stipend
- Pay scale + Grade Pay + Other allowances as admissible to the Assam State Government employees from time to time (per month) subject to modification on amendment of the relevant Rules
- Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- Grade Pay Rs. 17,500/- Pay Band - 4 for State Commission
- Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- Grade Pay Rs. 15,700/- Pay Band - 4 for District Commission

- Minimum Age: not be less than 40 years of age for Member of the Assam State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Non Judicial)

Selection Process
- There will be separate examination for each of the category of posts as mentioned below: a. Member of the Assam State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission(Non-Judicial) b. Member of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. (Non-Judicial)
- The Selection Process will comprise of three parts: a. Paper - I (Objective type and OMR based) b. Paper - II (Descriptive type) and c. Viva-Voce
- Paper - I (Objective type and OMR based): General Knowledge and Current Affairs 100 2 Hrs. Knowledge of Constitution and India Knowledge of various Consumers related Laws as indicated in the Schedule
- Paper - II (Descriptive Type): Candidates securing at least 50 marks out of the 100 marks in Paper-I will be eligible to sit in the Paper-II Examination. One Essay on Topics chosen from issues on trade and commerce consumer related issues or Public Affairs. 100 3 Hrs One case study of a consumer case for testing the abilities of analysis and cogent drafting of orders.
- Viva-Voce: Candidates securing minimum 50 percent marks in both Paper-I and Paper-II will be eligible to appear in the Viva Voce, subject to verification of their original documents.
- The final selection of the candidates will be on Merit basis and the merit lists will be prepared on the basis of total cumulative marks obtained by the candidates in each of the examinations, i.e. Paper-I, Paper-II and Viva Voce.
- The Examination will be conducted centrally in Guwahati only.
How to Apply
- Applicants are required to apply online through the APSC Recruitment website https://apscrecruitment.in. No other means/mode of application will be accepted.
- Applicants who have not yet registered in the APSC Online Recruitment Portal must first visit the APSC recruitment website https://apscrecruitment.in, click on the ‘Register Here’ link, and complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process by providing the required basic details.
- Applicants are advised to register with a valid and active e-mail address and mobile number.
- After registration, applicants should log in using their registered e-mail/mobile number and password.
- After login, applicants need to provide the required registration details as asked in the form.
- Applicants must carefully read the eligibility criteria and other relevant details before applying. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
- Applicants must upload the required documents/certificates (e.g. Date of Birth, Educational Qualifications, caste/category etc.) in PDF format, ensuring that: a) File size does not exceed 4 MB, b) The file is legible in print, c) Scanning is done at 200 dpi in grayscale (recommended).
- Applicants must upload their recent Photograph (size: 50 KB – 200 KB, not older than 3 months) and Signature (size: 50 KB – 200 KB).
- Uploaded documents will be verified at later stages of the recruitment process.
- Applicants should fill all details carefully and tick the declaration checkbox to enable the Preview option before final submission.
- No editing of the application will be allowed after final submission. Applicants must therefore ensure all details and uploads are correct.
- Before submission, applicants should check uploaded documents (educational qualification, age proof, caste certificate, etc.) using the Preview option to confirm that the documents are clear and legible.
- After previewing, applicants may either click ‘Proceed to Pay’ to continue or ‘Cancel’ to make necessary corrections.
- On completion of the form, applicants must pay the prescribed fee/charges, as applicable.
- Fee once paid will not be refunded.
- In case of payment failure/pending, applicants should click ‘Check Status’ to verify payment with the bank/GRAS. In instances of double debit i.e. amount debited more than once for the same transaction, bank will automatically refund the fee within 5-7 working days.
- Upon successful submission, an auto-generated confirmation e-mail/SMS will be sent to the registered e-mail ID/Mobile No.
- Applications will not be considered valid unless the fee payment is completed.
- Applicants may also fill their form through Common Service Centres (CSCs). Those without debit card/Internet banking facilities may visit the nearest CSC.
- After final submission, applicants must take a print-out of the submitted Online Application Form and retain the hard copy for future reference.
- Applicants are advised to submit their Online Application well in advance, without waiting for the closing date.
