Bank of India (BOI) is a leading Public Sector Bank with its Head Office in Mumbai, calling applications through online application (apply online) for recruitment of 2000 General Banking Officers (GBO) in Scale- I from 09/08/2010 which is also normally called as probationary officers (POs).

ELIGIBILITY:
(1) Age:As per Bank of India (BOI) norms must be between 21-30 years for General Banking Officers (GBO) / Probationary Officers(PO). The relaxations for OBC/SC/ST/PWD/XS are as per norms.
(2) Educational Qualification:Graduate with minimum 60% marks in Aggreagate from UGC recognized University is necessary as per Bank of India (BOI) norms for General Banking Officers (GBO) / Probationary Officers (PO).Working knowledge in computers will be added advantage.
(3) Nationality:A candidate must be either a citizen of India or as relaxations laid down by Government of India as per Bank of India recritment 2010 - 2011.
APPLICATION FEE (NON-REFUNDABLE) :
(a) For all other candidates – Application Fees : Rs.400/-
(b) For SC/ST/PWD/Ex-service-men Candidates – Nil.
HOW TO APPLY/ONLINE APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
(i) Candidate should have a valid e-mail id to apply throgh online application
(ii) The candidate should apply online through website www.bankofindia.co.in
(iii) As a First Step, candidate should take out Print-out of Challan from Page 14 of the Notice on our website (This will not be applicable for SC / ST / PWD & Ex-Servicemen Candidates for online application).
(iv) Against the above said Challan, the candidate should make the payment of fees in any of the Bank of India (BOI) branches on or before 31.08.2010 to apply online.
(v) Once the payment of fees is made, the concerned branch will give him a Transaction No.
(vi) Candidate should visit again our website www.bankofindia.co.in under the caption “Recruitments / Career” and should fill up the application available on Page 14 of the Notice on our website.
(vii) Transaction Number should be correctly filled in the online application of Bank of India (BOI) at appropriate place (This will not be applicable for SC / ST / PWD & Ex-Servicemen Candidates,).
(viii) Online Application should be checked and after verification be submitted by click to submit button.
(ix) Application should be printed and photo affixed on that, to be kept ready for submission at the time of interview at the Interview Venue as fixed by Bank of India (BOI) for General Banking Officer (GBO) / Probationary Officer (PO) post.
(x) You should note / remember your Registration Number and Password for future reference and use.
(xi) Please note that the above procedure is the only procedure for applying online. Physical mode of application or incomplete application would not be accepted and if submitted such application would be rejected outright by Bank of India ( BOI ) for General Banking Officers (GBO) / Probationary Officers (PO)
As per the above said procedure, the steps can be summarize as below :
i. Print Challan
ii. Pay the fees in any of the Bank of India Branch and take Transaction No.
iii. Fill-up the application Form - On-line and after verification - Submit.
iv. Print Application and affix photograph – to submit the same at the time of interview with following documents :
a. Copy of receipted challan;
b. Attested copy of School leaving certificate or any other document showing proof of age acceptable to the Bank of India,
c. Attested copies of Mark sheets / certificates in support of Educational Qualification;
d. Attested copy of certificate of Computer Course, as applicable;
e. Caste / PWD any other related certificate as applicable.
f. Candidates serving in Government / Public Sector Undertakings will be required to submit “No Objection Certificate” from their employer, in the absence of which their candidature will not be considered.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Bank of India (BOI) for General Banking Officers (GBO)/Probationary Officers (PO) post follow 2 staged selection process. That is Written Examination and Interview. Written Examinatin contains Objective and Discriptive test. Objective Examination comprises with four papers of Test of Reasoning Ability, Test of Quantitative Aptitude, Test of General Awareness on current developments for composite time of 120 minutes with 200 questins for 300 marks.
The Bank of India(BOI) conducts a Discreptive Test as qualifying examination.
Then Interview call will intiate by Bank of India ( BOI ) for General Bank Officers (GBO) post for sufficiently merit candidates in objective test. By taking written marks and interview marks the final selection will be made by Bank of India (BOI).
