Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Qualification: PhD in Human Geography from a recognized university.
• Research Experience: Minimum 3 years of research experience after PhD or equivalent project experience.
• Publications: Minimum 5 publications in peer-reviewed journals relevant to environmental studies or human geography.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Field Research Capabilities: Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative field research including interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), transect walks, participatory mapping, and documentation of community practices.
• GIS & Remote Sensing Expertise: Expertise in GIS and Remote Sensing for analyzing land-use change, drainage networks, canal systems, hydrological pathways, and ecological boundaries.
• Data Analysis Skills: Demonstrated capability in data analysis, report writing, academic manuscript preparation, and visual representation of research findings.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Experience collaborating with government agencies, local institutions, and community groups on issues related to water, environment, or peri-urban governance.
• Team Collaboration: Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and field-oriented research teams.

• Initial Contract Duration: 11 months.
• Probation Period: 3 months.
