Title: Peri-Nature Water Regimes and Nature

Focus: The project focuses on understanding water regimes in peri-urban and natural settings, examining the intersection of human-nature relationships, environmental sustainability, and water resource governance.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification: PhD in Human Geography from a recognized university.
  • Research Experience: Minimum 3 years of research experience after PhD or equivalent project experience.
  • Publications: Minimum 5 publications in peer-reviewed journals relevant to environmental studies or human geography.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Field Research Capabilities: Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative field research including interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), transect walks, participatory mapping, and documentation of community practices.
  • GIS & Remote Sensing Expertise: Expertise in GIS and Remote Sensing for analyzing land-use change, drainage networks, canal systems, hydrological pathways, and ecological boundaries.

The Project Scientist II will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing spatial data using GIS and Remote Sensing technologies.
  • Collecting and analyzing primary and secondary data related to water resources and peri-urban environments.
  • Writing academic manuscripts and preparing research reports.
  • Collaborating with community groups, government agencies, and local institutions.
  • Contributing to the dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations.
  • Assisting in data management and documentation.
