Eligibility Criteria
1. Age & Nationality
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Age must not be more than 30 years as on the date of publication of the advertisement.
2. General Essential Skills (for all domains)
All candidates are expected to have reasonable:
- Understanding of financial markets.
- Analytical ability.
- Knowledge of Information Technology tools.
- Aptitude for research.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Judgment and interpersonal skills.
3. Domain-wise Educational Qualification, Work Experience & Skills
Young Professional (Securities Market Operations)
- Post Graduate qualification (degree / 2-year diploma) in Management (with specialization in Finance) from a recognized and reputed university/institution with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA; OR
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / Company Secretary (CS) / Cost Management Accountant (CMA) with minimum 55% aggregate marks in the final level of the course; OR
- Successfully completed all 3 levels of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) course from CFA Institute (USA).
- At least 1 year of work experience in the financial sector after completion of Post Graduate qualification or CA/CS/CMA/CFA.
Young Professional (Law)
- Bachelors’ Degree in Law from a recognized and reputed university/institution with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
- At least 1 year of work experience in corporate/securities laws after completion of Bachelors’ Degree in Law / LLM.
- Preference to candidates with experience in a financial or investment environment requiring knowledge of market practices and rules, regulations and guidelines governing the securities industry.
Young Professional (Research)
- Post Graduate qualification (degree / 2-year diploma) in Management (with specialization in Finance) / Economics / Commerce / Financial Economics / Business Economics / Applied Statistics / Econometrics from a recognized and reputed university/institution with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
- For candidates with only Post Graduate qualification: at least 1 year of research/work experience in areas including but not limited to financial markets, corporate finance, macroeconomic theory, corporate governance, financial institutions and related areas of international finance, supported by published work/working papers/submission of papers in research conferences.
- For candidates with PhD in relevant fields (Economics/Econometrics/Finance/Commerce, preferably focused on financial markets): work experience requirement is not mandatory.
- Skill: Knowledge of statistical software.
Young Professional (Information Technology)
- Any of the following degrees from a recognized and reputed university/institution with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics / Electronics and Communication / Information Technology / Computer Science; OR
- MCA / MSc (IT) / MSc (Computer Science) / MBA (Systems) / MBA (Analytics) / M.Tech (Computer Science/IT/Relevant Stream) / MS (Computer Science/IT/Relevant Stream) or equivalent degree.
- At least 1 year of work experience in software development (programming) or cyber security.
Skills – Software Development (Programming)
- Proficiency in any of: JSP/J2EE with Spring/Hibernate; Angular; SAP-ABAP/Web Dynpro; Python (with ML frameworks like Pandas, Pytorch, scikit-learn, NumPy, Matplotlib, Plotly); IBM BPM development.
- Knowledge of ML algorithms, Deep Learning frameworks and NLP; or deep understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies including Multivariate Analysis, anomaly and pattern detection techniques, graph database.
- Proficiency in front-end frameworks like React, Vue etc. and/or knowledge of digital forensic analysis or OSINT frameworks.
- Database proficiency in DB2/ORACLE/PostgreSQL/MySQL etc.
Skills – Cyber Security
- Knowledge of global best practices in cyber security and IT.
- Ability to take corrective measures/prudent response in case of cyber-attacks.
- Experience in development, implementation and compliance with cyber and information security policies and procedures.
- Installation/operation of Data Security (DLP/DAM), Network Security (Firewall/IPS/Proxy/DDoS), or System Security (PIM/Antivirus/Anti-APT) products.
Young Professional (Rajbasha)
- Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi Translation with English as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level; OR
- Master’s Degree in Sanskrit/English/Economics/Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level; OR
- Master’s Degree in both English and Hindi/Hindi Translation from a recognized University/Institute.
- At least 1 year of work experience in the field including knowledge of Hindi typing.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: Not more than 30 years as on the date of publication of advertisement.
Selection Process for SEBI Young Professional Program 2026
Candidates will be selected based on a three-step process:
- 1. Application Screening: Applications will be screened and shortlisted as per criteria decided by SEBI, which may include institute ranking (e.g. NIRF), academic performance, relevance of work experience, Statement of Purpose, extracurricular activities, and overall profile.
- 2. Preliminary Interview: Conducted in virtual mode for shortlisted candidates.
- 3. Final Interview: Conducted in virtual mode; candidates must have valid ID proof for verification as required.
For Young Professionals (IT), additional factors considered may include relevant programming/cyber security certifications, valid GATE score and achievements in coding competitions, bug bounty, hackathons, or zero-day vulnerability reporting.
SEBI’s decision regarding eligibility, screening, interviews, assessment, number of vacancies and results will be final and binding. SEBI may select or reject any candidate and may cancel the advertisement fully or partly.

Apply for SEBI YPP 2026. - Fill the online application form carefully with accurate personal, academic, experience and domain choice details. A candidate is permitted to apply for only one domain.
- On submission, note down the generated Application Number and save the system-generated filled-in application form for future reference.
- Ensure that no false, tampered, fabricated or invalid particulars are furnished and that no material information is suppressed.
No other mode of application is permitted. The online application window will remain open for 21 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in newspapers.

Instructions

Salary/Stipend
- Monthly stipend: INR 70,000 (all inclusive).
- Income tax or any other applicable tax will be deducted at source. SEBI will not be liable for taxes or other contributions payable by the YP on payments made under this engagement.
- SEBI may provide unfurnished shared accommodation in Mumbai (subject to availability) for YPs not based in and around Mumbai; no additional payment/reimbursement for non-availability.
- For official domestic travel approved by Competent Authority, YPs will be eligible for local conveyance, halting, boarding and incidental allowances to the same extent as Grade A officers.
